There are a bunch out there... but I recommend http://www.blogger.com just because of its simplicity. I have a number of blogs for different purposes. Sort of like an online diary I guess. I do have a lot of relatives and even if we cant get to chat for a hour on the phone, they read my blog and get some sort of idea how my life is going and they like to comment and chat about stuff with me.

Theres a lot you can do with blogs the more you get into it. You can even (as ive done) use it to generate click through profits by linking useful amazon.com products. So for people interested in craftsman homes like me, I own some really good books on the subject and recommend them on my site (through advertising)so anyone looking for good books can click the ad and easily buy them. I dont make a lot of money off of it (or do i) but thats not the main point. Its pushing knowledge around and sharing ideas, especially with like minded folks. As an example Ive learned how to garden organically from another persons blog and Ive also learned that restored old homes can be used in movies and commercials (and pays pretty good! $8000 a day!)

I have a blog page on Yahoo 360, and I love it. My Space is mostly for the younger crowd, but 360 caters to older people.

Why don't you start at www.neigo.com, try it out online. This has very user friendly interface. It’s simple but also very useful. Nice interacting tool that allow you share your thought with your online friends. Also you can insert as many as pictures you like from your photo album
