It was a good thing to say. I don't think you made a mistake. I'm sure she appreciated the compliments. I am wondering, do you know why she was sad? Did this actually help to cheer her up, or did she seem to become more sad? The reason I ask these questions is because I would have gotten from that a reinforcement that you only wanted to be friends. You might want to try a more direct approach. Let her know what you want. She may feel the same way. If the direct approach doesn't work for you, you might try saying something like "I wish I had a girlfriend like you."

If she really is a wonderful friend then no harm/ no foul. I am sure that the fact she is such a wonderful friend and person has a lot do with why you would like to date her. Now you need to take the next step and tell her the rest of your feelings. Let her know that these are some of the reasons you would really like to date her. Good luck.

It was probably a good move. She realizes that you value her friendship immensely, but at the same time, maybe she things you only think of her as a friend and that's it. Maybe you should tell her how you feel.

i dont think it was a mistake but i think you should just tell her staraight out how you feel instead of kinda beating around the bush. she most likely already knows your interested by what youve already told her . maybe shes just waiting for you to actually just come out and say it. put it this way the worst she can say is she doesnt feel the same but if you dont tell her then youll never find out

If you are trying to win her over tell her you have been such a good friend and are so caring that you are stealing my heart because you are also beautiful and ask her to give you a chance.

why are people always dancing around what they really want to say if u are interested in her then tell her and don't give her that friend stuff cause she may think thats all u wnat her for is a friend be honest with her but most importantly be honest and true to yourself.

you were being honest..thats a good thing.. girls like that.. if you want to go out with her then give her little hints..then if she responds to obvious little hints then take it to the next level.. if not then stop before you both get hurt and your friendship gets ruin.. good luck and take care :)
