Lincoln Logs, they still make them and he will be playing with them until he is at least 10. Remember them! My nephew (who got his from me at 2) really enjoys his.

You can spend a fortune on toys for children and you see toddlers so happy playing inside a cardboard box or outside in the dirt with a small spade. The toys that are bought are the ones that will only excite them for a little while. I personally love to buy my grandchildren books and sit with them and read and read to them. they love it and so do I. Books are the perfect gift. Happy Birthday little boy!!

Lincoln Logs. They are safe, fun, and durable. (Which is handy for those times that they get chucked across the room in a two year old temper tantrum).

Sand boxes are great. A swing you attach to a tree limb is also great.

Get something soft like a teddy bear. Or something that you know will not hurt him.
