yes that's just a pride thing though... we always want to think we are better looking then we really are... look at a peacock... they spread their feathers to make them look better but they really aren't so maybe you understand what i am saying.. it all comes down to pride

Not sure about this...I'm thinking it might be a personal thing, as opposed to a gender thing.
I know some guys like to 'act' like it, because maybe they heard that confidence is a turn-on-- (i of course know that there is a fine line between confident of obnoxious).
...and just like someone mentioned earlier about some females strutting their stuff like they were the best thing since sliced bread.
I think people promote themselves differently when in public and you may find the similarities there. But once we're behind closed doors, and we've stripped off our fine duds, removed make-up, exhale and release that gut--it's a different kind of battle we wage with the mirror.
detail:
One reason how you may have come to this conclusion is that you are more familiar with what women go through (being one, obviously), and your basis may be of how men are when you see them at bars, school, work, etc.

Now that you mention it...that is so true! I guess men have these inflated egos because we feed into them. We as women will share a man knowingly. We will stand by our man when he's too lazy to stand on his own. We will rub his beer belly with pride but we will kill ourselves doing crunches. We are too hard on ourselves as women and not hard enough on some of the knuckleheaded men we encounter. Thanks for pointing that out!

Yes indeed! its nuts, it makes me so frustrated, I think women cat fight so much over men that the guys seriously start to think they must be "All That", And men try to make us feel threatened by other women that we start to think were not so attractive. Its a trap, I think men created this crazy cycle because they are really the ones who thinks they are not so hot looking.

i suppose that is one way to stereotype people, but as with all stereotypes its not true of everyone. there are just as many ugyl women who think they are hot, and guys who think they are not. sometimes this is just people being ignorant, other times its a confidence issue, it really depends on the person

yes, It is best though to have a good self image. Women are harder on themselves because society expects us to stay young and pretty;. As guys get older they get DISTINGUISHED.
