Women love successful men bcuz they provide stability. If he's cute, all the better.
Most of the time a girl doesn't find a guy that has ALL the stuff that you mentioned, so she finds the one that meets MOST of the criteria.
If the girl's good-looking enough, the guy that has all that ~ WILL go for her because guy's think with the wrong head.

You're right -there is always that possibility. But the good this is that this type of guy doesn't really exist. And if a woman is unwavering in these criteriors for a man, then she's kind of lacking in substance heself. The truth is, all of these qualities (mostof them at least) can be acquired:
Rich and smart - if he's smart and resourceful, picked the "right profession" he knows how to make money
Handsome, young and goodlooking - hygene and grooming
Understanding, romantic - okay he's picked up a book, back to the smart
Sense of humor (a couple fo knock knock jokes, so what)
If you were to ask any real woman, her expectations would not be as extreme as all that.

Lets analize your description:
rich Not all girls want a rich guy, but they want a father-like figure that can provide them all they want.
handsome: We like pretty girls so there isnt nothing strange about it, but this isnt so important for girls as for guys.
intelligent: Intelligence is relative, so unless you' re a retard you convince her you re smart enough
young: What about so many pretty girls marrying old guys. This is not true and goes against the father-like theory.
goodlooking: same as handsome
well settled: well settle means he is independent, he has some money, he is a good provider, he is a good husband. hes like daddy!!
understanding: girls want a father-like figure but they still want to feel independet, so they want a guy that provides as a father, protects as a father but doent yell at them or ground them. But if you re too much of an undertanding guy, then you re weak, your a wuss, so u cant protect, so your out of the league.
romantic with
good sense of humour: who doesnt?! humor is also relative so whats funny for you might not be funny for her.
So if u can mix all this requirements you can go for the prettiest girl u can find, and then, check if she's smart, sexy, with good sense of humor, and whatever u like.

Girls are sooo materialistic.....its a shame!! But a guy should want to be established but not to the point where a girl is in need of a guy like that. Now don't get me wrong, women do want a man that has his own and all romantic and stuff but dang......think about it......why is she so keen on getting a rich guy??? She must don't have much herself or she's just money hungry......who wants a girl like that?? The guy needs a have a girl who doesn't have much and would APPRECIATE whatever a man has to offer.

What if an attractive, wealthy, well settled, understanding, romantic young woman wanted these qualities in another man? Shouldn't she be allowed to want the same thing that she can provide? Is it wrong to want to meet him halfway?
There are some gold digging women AND men out there that just want a free ride and sometimes they get it because they run a good game and have good looks to support their vanity ..

Well you just described prince charming, and that guy is always looking for a fairy princess and then they can live happily ever after. Personally I like Shrek. now there is a guy that is real, and down to earth. Beauty fades, and eventually you stay with the one that loves you, beyond what they see on the outside, and loves the heart of the other person. Sure you want someone good looking, but I know some "pretty people "and 1 day with them and I realize how shallow and stuck on themselves they are. Get around someone like that and its me me me me I I I I , they don't Care about anyone but themselves. Give me a real , good guy over Mr. Popular any day. : )

I'm all that and more...except for the sense of humour part where I lack.
I don't know about the rich guy part though, the word settled better fits here and add dreams and goals. Besides, the guy you just described does not exist. I've searched and something was always missing.

Look at the women that some of the guys that have money are with. They are with women you want a guy that is rich and all that other stuff. Sometimes men don't really care just as lone as the girl is pretty or well built.

The thing is, if you are meant to be with someone and they are meant to be with you, they will think you are the best around, and vice versa.
I know I'm going to misquote this, but the general gist will be intact.
Love is not about finding a perfect person, it's about seeing an imperfect person perfectly.
And I agree with the self-esteem answer. Don't ever settle for less than what you deserve and don't ever let anyone make you feel that you are worth less than you are.
You are the best for someone...remember that.

A woman wants to know that a man will be able to provide for a family. Most times a woman is the one doing most of the caring for children and working on top of that is hell. Instead of complaining about it, go out there and try to improve you job prospects any way you can. Who is to say that I'm not one of the best girls around?
