My compaq presario supposedly has all the software to play DVDs but every time I put one in nothing happens.

i have media players and yes i have a DVD/CD-ROM drive and i have the divX stuff

You might not have the software that is needed for playing, but I don't that's your problem because I bet all Windows computers have Windows Media Player installed.

Maybe your DVD rom is not set up for automatic playing, this means you have to go to:

> Click on Start
> Click on My computer
> Click on the DVD-rom...then it should start playing.

I bet this will work, but double-clicking the DVD-rom, if this doesn't work then there must be a problem with your computer reading DVD's, bring it to a technician or call your manufacturer :)

Do you have a DVD drive or are you trying to play a DVD in a CD drive?
Do Properties on MY COMPUTER / hardware / device manager and see if the drive is recognized as a DVD drive.

Are you sure you have a DVD drive and not just a CD drive?

if u hav never seen a dvd on ur lapy b4 i think ur misin the dvd reader



softwares alone r of no use

you may need to download DivX...or a similar software programme
