I know this may sound stupid to some people but can muslims wear jewlery because i heard that they can't wear gold is this true?

According to one of my religious Muslim friend, Muslim men are not allowed to wear Gold and silk, these two things are only for women (though I am not sure)

In many families the amount of Bling they have corresponds to their social status. Women may not show it through all their Abaya's taht cover them from head to toe, but they do wear them in their own homes.

Yes, gold is not allowed to be worn by muslim men. they shouldn't also wear silk. Because it is a sign luxury and adourment which is not meant for men.
