Wash it with Dial soap twice a day, then follow that with alcohol. My belly piercing took six months to finally heal! It's a pain in the butt but it will be worth it!

infection? you sure?
always keep the area clean, use antiseptics and keep it dry and don't try to play with the peircing too much it will bleed and not heal clean and properly.
wash it out with a mild soap, use alcohol or some other drying chemical that will kill any bacterial growths.
peroxide is useful if you have alot of crusting and you wish to loosen the crust and dirt without digging around much and breaken open the wound/peircing.
try not to wear any clothing that will rub against your peircing while it's healing.
also if this keeps up go back to the person who did it and have them look at it. if that fails see your general practisoner, they'll give you something that'll fix it, either that or they suggest you remove the peircing and let it heal over..
then try again a year later but with someone else, in case the one who did this did it properly and the infection was caused after the proceedure.
make sure you keep it clean, it may not be an infection it may be irritation and much fluid seepage to protect the area from the friction/rubbing that is apparently happening.
keep it dry and give that navel of yours air, those navels are tricky things.

Do not use alcohol or neosporin. That will aggrivate the piercing, the alcohol will burn the piercing, and the neosporin will clog in the hole and prevent oxygen flow (reducing the hole's ability to heal properly, and possibly increase infection). Take a teaspoon of MILD alcohol-based mouthwash (one without sugar), and dilute it in a small cup of water, and gently rinse off the piercing with it. Then take a quarter-teaspoon of sea salt, or kosher salt, and dissolve it in a glass of water, and with a cotton swab, GENTLY wash the area with it (both sides of the piercing), and then rinse it off with the remaining saltwater.
Do not, under any circumstances, remove the jewelry, unless at the direction of your piercer or doctor. Avoid any contact with clothing (ensuring proper air flow). Take some Vitamin C or drink orange juice to help fight off the infection.
If it does not clear in 3 days, go see your piercer, and ask for advice. If he cannot give any, go see your doctor.

Clean it with soap and water, and warm salt water soaks.
Shot glasses work well, and you'll want the water to be roughly as salty as tears. Fill mostly full, and invert over your piercing for several minutes.
Also, keep your hands off it, and make sure that your clothing's not rubbing against it.
Good luck!

!!DONT GO ANYWHERE NEAR IT WITH ALCOHOL OR SURGICAL SPIRIT!! it f*cks up the healing process, you aint said how much your cleaning it or what with....
i used boiled salty water... (obviously wait for it too cool so its just warm) and did that 2ce a day... but u can also use Carex soap if salt water dont work... if it looks infected get a bottle of pure tea tree and put 1DROP into the cup of salty water... no more or it will 'burn' the skin... keep cleanin it twice a day and try to wear clothes that dont rub and also try not to touch it without washin your hands first... b patience with it... navel piercings can b a bit difficult to heal. if you are worried at any point go back to your piercist they are there to put ur mind at rest :)

This is one of the danger spots to be pierced. You do need medical advice because this area is not a place to let go for long. You should have been told how to heal your piercing and heard all the cautions that come with it. So, my dear..call your doctor right now and speak to a nurse if he is too busy.

Try not touching it too much, its exciting and sometimes people tend to touch their peircings alot or let other people, big no no! Always keep it clean, using seasalt, you can get it at almost any store. Also check out these links to see if you cant find more info on the matter and good luck to you!

My wife's doc said whatever you do, do not use peroxide or alcohol on it because this will actually hurt rather than help. neosporin, saltwater to clean it, or go to a piercing place and get some cleaning solution. the reason peroxide and alcohol won't help is because your piercing is a puncture wound, not a scrape, and they heal differently. so good luck! hope it heals good for you.

try a sea saltwater solution. clean the area several times a day (do not use antibacterial soap), with the solution. let as much air as possible get to it. avoid topical items like neosporin, etc...

Savlon spray is good. You may be allergic to the steel. You could get the bar swapped for a gold or plastic one.
