This sweet little girl is missing her parents and is trying to stay awake until they arrive home. Have lots of patients with her and do all you can to fill the void. Are her grandparents nearby so they can come and help you ? Suggest to her to lay down and rest and take a nappy. Tell her Mom and Dad will soon be home and until then she needs to take a nap. Make sure she is having fun and not just playing alone. You play games with her and let her know over and over that Mom and Dad are coming home. See to it that she is eatiing and drinking enough , as you certainly don't want her to be lacking in that. At night when it is her bedtime, give her a nice bath and let her play, while you are next to her. Then she should be relaxed enough to fall asleep.
Make sure that she feels comfortable with y ou. It is a lot of work and patience, but you have to do it. Don't be angry with her, as she is frightened enough without her parents. Poor little girl. I know she does not want to go to sleep until her parents return. If you have a grandparent nearby, then call for help. Good Luck. Take care and may God bless you and the little girl , Always!!

put her in her room/bed and close the door. Make sure there is nothing she can get into that will cause her harm. If she cries, let her cry a little, its excellent exercise to lung development outside the womb, check on her every 15 mins. She's probably a little homesick for mom and dad. When children fight sleep, it can be severly nerve racking. Sometimes the more you try to do, the more aggrivated they get. Give her a time out away so both of you can calm down. I have four that I went thru this with. sooner or later they usually cry themselves to sleep from exaustion.

You need to put her in her bed and turn on the tv turn it to a music station if you have one. Turn it down kinda low cover it up and tell it it needs to take a nap and that you will see it when it wakes up. Walk out and slightly close the door. she/he will cry but he/he will be just fine. Its alright for it to cry. Its normal. If the child cries for more than 15 minutes you should let him/her up and try it again in about 30 minutes. if the child isnt in a crib and it wont stay laing down. Keep putting her back in her bed until she takes a nap.

Do this, it always worked with my little brothers. After she plays, give her a cold bathe (depending on the weather) and let her play in the water for awhile (not to much water). When she is finished, give her something to eat that could full her, give her something cold to drink, if the house has an air condition, make sure that the room get s very cold, put a soft pillow on your lap, rest her on it, and just shake your legs like your being impatient (lol) and then rub her back and hair, and she should fall right to sleep.

Is the child fussy? If she is not cranky or crying she will take a nap when she is ready, my daughter stop taking naps at around this age. Make sure her diaper is clean, she is fed. If possible maybe take her outside for a half hour and let her run some enegry off.

Turn off all the televisions in the home. Put away all the toys. Take her into a quiet room and hold her. Rock her a little. Bouncy walk and let her lie against your chest. She might be whiny, she might take awhile to get to sleep, but eventually she'll get bored in the silence and drift off. You just have to be a little patient.

I do this with my niece all the time and it works. Hopefully it'll work for you, too.

Try running the vacuum in the next room it used to put my sister to sleep when she was fussy. But sometimes children just wont go to sleep just like us they get too wound up or are over tired and can't sleep. Just put her down and turn out the lights let her play in her bed until she falls asleep.
Resting in a quiet space on her own can be just a good as actual sleep.

Have you tried rocking her? How about soft - very soft music.
You could also put her down and let her cry a bit. Usually, a baby will go to sleep in a few minutes.
How's the diaper situation? Check her clothes and see if she is getting pinched.

Maybe she is not ready to take a nap, continue to play with her until she gets tired , she will fall asleep when she is sleepy, she is probably very active and kids those ages doesn't fall asleep quick. Try getting the house quiet without any noises lay her down and maybe she will fall asleep but give her time she will and don't get upset because she want fall asleep.
