Step 1: Boot the computer in safe mode, then check to make sure that nothing is wrong with your installed version of Windows. This could include (but is not limited to) a virus, deleted file or folders in Windows, or an error in the startup list.

Step 2: Since your question indicates that only your account is not working, you could talk to the administrator of the computer (local machine administator, likely you supervisor [work machine] or you dad [home machine]) to check your account settings.

Step 3: Using the administor's account, create a startup disk (CD or floppy, depending on your computer's configuration) which should start your account. Likely, this will not be needed, as you have indicated that other users on the same machine are able to start Windows.

Well it sounds like whatever the problem is could be related to that profile - you can logon as another user, and when you DELETE a windows user account, it will create a folder on your currently-logged-in desktop with the same name as the one you are deleting, and inside of that folder it can place all your MY DOCUMENTS and other settings.

Alternately, you could logon to another user and browse to:

c:\documents and settings\USERthatNOlongerLOADS\start menu\programs\startup

Just to see if anything in there could be causing the system to freeze. You can move all of those items out to another folder and then try to logon again. (using the same method to browse within the sub folder will allow you to access all of your files contained within incase you prefer to back them all up now also).
