Have a huge party. That way, people will remember the party and the good times they had with you before you have to go. Saying good bye is never easy, but it can be kinda fun this way.

Just tell them that you are moving away and that you will miss them and hopefully that they'll keep in touch with you. You could also have a farewell dinner the night before you leave. Tears will flow but thats better than just leaving and not saying goodbye.

If you are good at good byes, I would do it in person, it is more meaningful. But, if you are not, I would call them, or write them (Not email) and give promise them a number to the new home.

have a small get together, or havea a big party..depending on how many friends your sayign bye to. or go out to a nice dinner.

go to a buffet place and have dinnre with all of them then go see a movie or somthing. or you could buy like matching necklaces and give them all one kindof like a friends circle. buy all checp friend ship braclets or necklaces or something, just s thought.
