well the best way to do it is a tripod. and not just on the ground. when you have to move, a tripod steadies your shots a lot. just pull out the tripod's legs but fold it up, so its like a long monopod. then grab it in the middle, and walk around with it. if youre doing it right, it should be smooth as silk.

If in daylight
Increase Shutter Speed, that will reduce vibrations a lot.
If in nighttime dont use the camera LCD, watch with the viewfinder, this help to get it steady because you have it against your face.

Tripods. Any shot that is over 1/60th of a second will usually create shakiness without a tripod.
