The road to Heaven is narrow. That is what God already knew. It would be nice for everyone to come along but they are too open minded. Pride is the answer.

Wait a second. Say there was proof God exists, why then do you have to follow his teachings? Just because someone exists does not mean everyone will automatically follow them.
You talk about loving there's one reason. I cannot have sex before marriage if I accept Christianity. Sorry, I'm not onborad for that stupid rule. Then I can't swear even if I hit my thumb with a hammer, I cannot scream, "Sh*t!"? Strike two.
I don't hate God. I just don't give a crap about following any organized religion. period. Sure it's fascinating what different culture believe in and why but I'm not buying into it. So why are you all bent out of shape about whether people hate or love your god? All that matters is how you treat others in life and respect that not everyone has your opinion on religion, politics, family life, etc. Isn't that Christian? To have tolerance for others?

Im not an atheist but just to set the record straight they don't HATE God they just don't believe in him/her. As for not being loved by mommy I don't know how you grew up but some people didn't have a mommy, hell some people didn't have a home so before you go judging why a person might not believe in God take into consderation that not everyone has had a privilaged life as you portray you've had

If there were proof, I would become a believer. In what, I couldn't say because it would depend on the nature of the proof.
If it were proof that that Christian Fundamentalist God were real, then I would fight back as hard as I could. I have no interest in worshipping an egomaniacal, tempramental, homocidal tyrant. The same would go for the fundamentalist version of Allah, or Catholic, or JW, or worst of all Scientology. The divine beings depicted by all those faiths are authoritarian and utterly lacking in the very ideals that they supposedly represent.

The problem is with the word "proof". What passes for proof for you, doesn't pass for proof for us. For instance, the bible is not proof. Even if you can prove a few things in the bible actually happened, does this make everything in the bible true? NO. It would be the equivalent of picking up a Stephen King book and saying "Oh look, Bangor really is a city in Maine, therefore the whole story must be true." Ridiculous, huh? I'd convert if there was real proof....the problem is, the kind of proof that would convince me doesn't exist.

FYI - I got enough loving from my mum as a kid, obviously, as I don't feel I need to be loved by some kind of higher being. I don't hate God, I don't really know him all that well to hate him. I would just rather choose my own free will than have someone or something make certain decisions for me.
By the way, I don't think the end of that question is very 'Christian'. It's kinda aggressive

The same reason that if undoubted able proof existed that there was NO God you would not convert.
I chose how I believe; no person or “God” will change that. I don't hate God, I can not hate something I don't believe exists. I do not like Christians though, for the very way you worded your question.
I respect that you have a different belief than me, why can't you respect that I have a different belief than yours?

Well let's just start with a sunrise/sunset, a baby's laugh, is just not enough. Sorry. No proof.
But let's get beyond that,
Poof God appears.
Why would I want to spend an eternity getting rewards from a God who has tortured some of his children here on earth? Why would I want to be with someone who can be so cruel to one and heap rewards on another?
Nope, not for me.
I have to stay true to myself, and I do that by being as good, helpful, and kind as I can be. If that's not enough well go back and re-read from Why would I...

Yes if i saw proof that the christian god exists i would fight alongside satan, a god kills and then tells us not to is a hipocryte.
a god who makes humans knowing most will end up suffering eternally in hell is not kind or loving. a god who judges people based on belief when there is no proof of his existence is too proud. the bible describes him as a jealous god, why would i want to convert?

How about this?
My wife was Episcopalian.
She was taught that God is love and that God will answer your prayers.
Her father was a beater. He beat everyone in the family.
She prayed to God. Nothing happened. She pleaded to those at her church for help. They chose not to get involved as it was a "private family matter".
She had to stand up to her father in a fistfight to get some degree of respect.
Where was God for her?
As far as she is concerned a priest, rabbi or minister is no different than a used car salesman.
All they want to do is sell a bill of goods.
