Total abortion in the United States (1965-2005)
If you add up the estimated number of surgical and chemical abortions, the total is more than 600,000,000 babies killed in the United States alone.
2002-16,204 Murders
2003-16,528 Murders
2004-16,137 Murders
Total-48,802 Murders
The number of rapes, however, has increased in three of the past four years, according to the FBI data. In all, rapes increased by 0.8 percent to 94,635 rapes, or about 750 more than in 2003. Rapes are up nearly 5 percent since 2000, while murders have increased by 3.5 percent, FBI data show.
Child protective services across the country found an estimated 896,000 children to be victims of maltreatment (neglect or abuse).8

There are many rapes, murders, child abuses, and abortions that are never counted or reported too.

Consider also that these numbers may not be relevant to the general population. That if there are more of one in the population then of course the numbers may reflect a higher ratio.

It is better to educate about the sanctity of marriage. To teach people that they are children of God. To teach the correct use of intimacy and all acts related. To raise children to be God fearing and loving. The above stated are all results of ignorance of divine potential and self worth. These facts are horrific and I think it would be better to be proactive.
Keep holding sacred.

As people fall away from Christ and the celebration of the Mass with the unbloody Sacrifice on the Altar, God punishes us by allowing the bloody sacrifice of abortion and and the blood shed in war. Well, really we punish ourselves. Let's return to Christ in the Eucharist which is the only way to end abortion.
And now the world is seeing the effects of contraception and abortion. All nations are becoming depopulated and so few are being born that we are seeing the crisis: Too many elderly with too few youth to support them! This has happened in China and all of Europe and in the United States. What is saving the U.S. are all the illegal Mexican citizens. They are the new generation who will support us when we are old....and then there is that awful thought: The generation that wanted abortion will be annialated with geriatric genocide! They have brought this evil upon themselves....just wait and see!

ok...I am NOT saying that abortion is ok. But look at it this way...our world is overpopulated as it is. What if all the babies that were aborted were saved? Where would we be today. I agree that as a whole, human morality is as low as possible in some cases. But I do have to point out that not all the cases of rape reported are true rapes. Some cry rape to get attention and some do it because they cheated and dont want to get caught and some even do it because they regret thier decisions. As for the murder....its horrible that people kill....unfortunatly we cannot do anything about it except put them in prison and pay for them to live in a six by nine call and not have to work for the food or clothing they get. Its a shame really...prisoners sometimes living better then us. So much for paying for thier crimes. I guess we dont really hold much of anything "Sacred" now days, although some do worship money...

Do you mean the collective 'we?'
Do you think that their lives would be preferable to what they now have if all the aborted pregnancies were now on earth? I assume that you believe that an aborted fetus goes to heaven, correct?
Did you ever read the book by Gail Sheehy called "The Population Bomb"? I believe that the large growth in the earth's population has caused some of the behavior you allude to.
I also think you are more interested in making a moral statement of your beliefs than in actually finding an answer to a question.

For all who believe life itself is a gift from God and all life is Sacred, you need to get into action, words alone will not change this holocaust against the unborn and the elderly. There is a wonderful website (it is not just for Catholics), priestsforlife.org and on that website are many, many links one of which is the "silent no more awareness" campaign. This web site has actual testimonies that you can listen to of women who have had abortions, and now regret it and how their lives have been changed because of buying into all the lies that abortion hurts no one. They suffered in silence until they finally spoke out about all the negative things in their lives, feelings, emotions, in being deceived and there is also a link to "rachel's vineyard" which is a site women and men both can go to for information on healing and forgiveness regarding abortion. For every woman who has had an abortion, for every man who has lost fatherhood through abortion, I urge you to check out this site and know that there is help and healing for you. Julia, thank you for your question and we must all know in our hearts that 'All Life is Precious in God's Eyes". We all need to protect the innocent unborn and the elderly and the helpless children and know God holds each individual He has created as Sacred.

I hold may things sacred. I noticed in your findings u haven't listed and per capata data... or sociological information... have u yourself taken into consideration any of those things? That may help u get an understanding for the statistics that u have listed that are coming off alarmingly out of proportion - In some areas these numbers have actually reduced.

The carnage beggars belief.
I really do think the world has gone mad sometimes. I can understand killing in times of war, and even in times of reprisal. But how on earth can anybody understand so many of the unborn slaughtered?
They never did anything wrong. They never deserved to be killed.
It's grimly ironic that the abortionists are in with a good chance of killing even more humans than the Nazis managed to kill in their death camps.

That's why when Jesus comes back, every knee will be FORCED to bow down if people haven't chosen it already for themselves. That's what the world is coming to. Reverance will only be restored when people see the face of God. For too many, it will be too late.
