I'm not sure if I'm understanding you. If you want your cats to use the human toilet, there is a ring that you attach to your toilet seat and it helps train you cat to ' do it's business ' in the toilet ( now, if they can only get a way to teach them how to flush ! ). Check out CatFancy magazine for the advertisements.

If you have some very young kittens that were weaned too early from their mother to learn toileting issues from her, you need to do a little improvising. Get an aluminum baking pan that has a very low side. Use this as the litter pan. I wouldn't use clay or clumping litter if they are very small since the dust isn't good for them. Use either shredded newspaper or a litter made from wheat called SwheatScoop. Place the kittens, their food and water and the box in a small room without the ability to leave that room. Play with the kittens and place them into the litter box every so often, especially after they eat or drink. They should get the hint after about a week

Good luck

My cat is about 2.5 yrs old and just recently taught herself. Swear to God! It's really strange and I'm still not used to it. I tried teaching her when she was little but it didn't work (I thought). 2 years after trying she suddenly started. I was told, however that you need to put the litter box right next to the toilet, slowly raise it every few days until the cat is used to the height of the box. Then (you can get this at a specialty pet store probably), buy one of those litter boxes that fits inside the toilet bowl. After a bit of that, the cat should start getting the hint. Good luck (but be prepared for a shock the first time it actually works)

If they have a mother then she will show them. When the mother goes let her cover most of it and you take her out of the box and put a kitten in and see what it does. Take a paw and do the pushing of the paw over the mess and then see if kitty gets the idea. Rome wasn't built in a day but I do think the kittens will get trained quicker than Rome was built. Cats are smart and clean and will learn.

i have never had a cat that don't instinctively know how use a litter box have you tried getting one you know they can get into without difficulty then put them in it ever so often once they use it once they usually keep going back they understand that is the place to potty after you have put them in it enough also try this if you don't live in a big city my mom would get her cats used to our house for say two or three weeks then they would understand it was there home she would put them out about every two hours until we no longer needed a litter box they would go sit by the door when they needed to hope it helps good luck

Show them the box and keep it in the same place and they will use it. If you want to teach them to use a toilet there are kits you can get. They use a container that holds a small amount of litter. When the kitty gets used to using that you just remove the container and they use the toilet like it is still there. The real fun part about that is watching them try to bury it.

Make sure you show them the litter box by placing them in it first. Then if you see them in the act, pick them up quickly and take them to the box. Most cats are usually very good about going to the litter box on there own without any training.....

Here is what my husband and I did with our kitten. When we first got him we put his litter box in the laundry room and at night and during the day when no one was home we kept him in there with it so he could become used to it. Then after about 5 days we started to let him roam about the house freely but when we saw him sniffing the carpet we picked him up and ran him to the litter box. Then once he got used to going in the litter box and didn't sniff the carpet again we started to train him to go outside. When we saw him going to his litter box to go to the bathroom we would pick him up and run outside with him and sit him in the grass. After doing this for about a month he started to go to the door on his own. Now we don't have a litter box anymore. The cat will wait at the door until someone lets him outside. If no one is home then he holds it till someone comes home. GOOD LUCK.

There is no proven way to do it. What I would suggest is every hour or two, or after they eat pick them up and bring them to their litter box, put them inside. At the beginning they will try escape, but after a while they will accept it as a safe place for them and since there is sand in there their natural reaction will do the rest.

You have to get mean with them when they go outside the litter box, they won't like it but they'll learn. Then, you can also put them in the litter box when they do go in it, and pet them and tell them they are good.
