I think what you mean is brown rice. The main difference between white and brown rice is that white rice is highly polished, which strips the rice of its inner layer, that makes it look good but it definitely not better for health.

Brown rice on the other hand is an old-fashioned rice which is just taken out of the husk but it still has the inner brown layer (which makes it brown). This layer is rich in fiber and minerals which are good for the alimentary system as well as the body in general. Also, it is better when you are trying to eat healthy in order to watch your weight since it had more complex carbohydrates instead of simple ones.

Good luck!

I eat rice 3-4 times a week, I have never heard of red rice, just white and brown, brown is considered better due to the husk being present, however, any goodness within the rice can be undone by fatty sauces on top!

Never heard of an actual rice that is red in colour, there are many dishes that refer to "red rice", but they are made using plain old simple long grain etc. rice and the "red" part is only because you add kidney beans, a pepper etc (i.e. something red!) during cooking. If there is a red rice then Yahoo Answers has certainly taught me something new today!
