Who are they who overcome? Those who are born of God. This is our victory, our faith.
Without faith, it is impossible to please God. For those who seek Him must believe that He Is, and is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. God loves you. He will never leave you or forsake you.
Overcome sin by submitting to God. Pay attention to God. Pray to God. Listen to God. Resist satan & satan flees.
Part of submitting to God, is just praying or singing His promises from the Holy Bible. Purchase a biblical promise book. Pray the Word over the areas you need deliverence in.
If we confess our sin, He is just to forgive us our sin & cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
First thing in the morning, pray to God in the Spirit & truth, building up your most Holy faith. Study His Word as God directs. Trust & obey God through out the day. He will direct your path.

First, have your church members (particularly your paster and the elders) lay hands upon you and pray. It really works ....... if YOU want it to. Remember, when you became Born Again, you accepted Jesus as Master of your life; a sinner defiles His Bride. Therefore, turning from your sin is not an option. However, we chose whether we are obediant or not.
Second, within the "Model Prayer," Jesus encourages us to pray the Father that He will "lead us not into temptation." In this context, temptation means "testing," which is a way God can strengthen your faith. I can personally attest to the fact that, when you repeatedly turn from sin, you FEEL the victory in your life; this, in turn, strengthens you. God knows when you struggle and win; that's why we receive crowns in Heaven, because we've overcome sin with His power! So pray to God that He will not cause further temptation to come into your life; but also pray that, if He sends it, that He also sends you the strength in Him to overcome it.
Third, learn to avoid situations and people that tempt you. If your sin is pornography, give away your computer or cancel your internet service. If it's drinking, cut off friends who drink and don't go anywhere near a bar or store that sells the stuff.
Fourth, I find it very helpful to read the Bible whenever I'm tempted. I don't even have to read a passage about sin; just feeding off of His Word strengthens me.
Fifth, ask a very close friend to be your "accountability partner." Explain to him or her exactly what your issue is and get council and support from your friend as often as you need to. If you stumble or fall, go to this person immediately and confess. Being accountable to an actual person really helps.
I hope this helps. Peace and love in Jesus.

The bible says where there is temptation flee. Also read James 1;12 and acts3:19 You have to die to sin when you become a child of god you are no longer held captive by sin, Sin is now a choice but there are some things that you do that were passed on through generation and things like that you have to stay on your knees about and pray that the curse stops here. I know I'm going far but when we were baptized we were killing our old self and resurrecting as new creature so now like i said sin is now a choice some sin we can just lay down and some sins become strongholds and it takes alot of praying diligently to e freed from that. But it also has to be your will if you really want to be free from sin and die to your flesh God will deliver you.

God bless you. You made me laugh. That's a good question. I think I may battle sin as long as I am in the flesh. I have found victory in Christ over some sins but others pop up and need to be overcome. Earth is a war zone. St Paul said I die daily. Sometimes I have to say no to sin over and over in one day. I am fighting to keep fasting today. I will fast this next hour just for you. "some things come not out except by prayer and fasting."
God loves you and I do to.

Are you really doing all it take to be an overcomer? like fasting, daily bible reading (you know the Holyghost only feeds off of it's self) and of course praying. prayer is the most powerful tool God gave us and the least used. Do these things and be sure to stay in church even when you don't feel like it. and watch The Lord strengthen you

I too am a Acts 2:38 Spirit filled Christian....and to answer you ..well you must realize that we walk out our salvation daily....we deny our flesh daily....we trust in the Lord to help us to walk out our salvation......we are victorious in all things....we are human and we will have times of weakness ....but what we do in those times of weakness is important...we must confess our sin and surrender it to the lord and allow Him to show us the way to freedom and He will......I fast and pray about things I have trouble overcoming and the Lord is faithful to walk me through it and bring me to a place of victory..... remember we are not going to overcome all in a day...just keep yourself right before God and be obedient and pray in the Spirit and God will show you the way to go and he will help you walk through all of it......don't condemn yourself for failing we all do but the important thing is to come to realize we need to confess the sin and move forward and receive His forgiveness and not get caught up in the condemnation the enemy uses to keep us frustrated...we will have sin in our lives until we go home to be with the Lord...but we can walk in obedience as long as we walk with Jesus.....God Bless....

I am not a religious person, but I can offer an outsider's view for what it's worth.
I'm amazed by the number of people who consider themselves Christian but who then seem to distance themselves from the universal nature of the teachings of Jesus. It seems that many people end up applying his teachings only to like-minded individuals while becoming filled with arrogance at being Christian.
I would suggest you go to the root of his teachings (Matt 7:12) as he, himself, suggested:
So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets.
Stick to that. Apply it to your thoughts and actions with regards to every person you encounter, whether you like them or not!
Good luck on your spiritual journey!

The cross is the only way.
Bible says recogn yourself dead indeed to sin but alive unto God thru Jesus Christ our Lord.
It takes coming to the cross to die to the flesh... not easy..but it is neccessary.

Pray to recognize your sins. Once you recognize the sin, seek knowledge from others and God on how this sin can be overcome. God gives unto men weaknesses so that they will be humble and come unto Him. When they do, he makes those weaknesses into strengths.
