Obviusly people can live without sex (who wants to though?) so it's not a necessity. Given your chocies and the fact sex sells, I'd say it's a commodity at times. But that's a pretty black and white way to look at it.

Definately not a necessity, but a desire brought on by nature. It is a commodity when you look at the scope of it's value in porn etc. JMHO.

Its a NECESSITY, and not in the perverted way, humans need sexual contact. If you don't believe me look at all the problems with the Church right now and see what no sex does to people.

Necessity...
If you are not with someone you can never hug, get close share feelings or develop emotionally with someone as their boy or girlfriend who they will be guaranteed to have will get upset or they will not like you as a freind no more.
So you need a sexual partner if for nothing else to hug, feel close to, share emotions with or you are dead inside whatching everyone else in love and enjoying life.
Plus girl will see you as needy or usless or some kind of dickless brother gay with no feelings

For men, it is a necessity.
I don't think it can normally be thought of as a commodity, although there are those that use it as such.
