It's normal to feel extreme emotions at your age.
you are going thru allot of changes and are nearing the time to fly from the nest. there is much to be nervous about and you can NOT control most of it and that is part of the issue.
If you think it is more ...like depression then see a doctor but It sounds like it is just the butterflies and anxiety over the unknowns that will be entering your life very soon.

just remember..."this to shall pass" whenever you feel so upset.

It sounds like you're starting to get a little anxious over the upcoming changes. Going away to college is a big deal, especially since you're losing everything that's familiar to you. You're taking a step into adulthood, and maybe you feel like all the good things (your parents backing you, your friends, etc) will suddenly stop, like you'll all of the sudden stop being a kid and be expected to take on these major adult roles.

Not true, at all.

It's a learning process. Just because you're 17,18, does not automatically mean you're ready to be a full-fledge adult.

I could be absolutely wrong, but I went through, and still am going through that, as well as some people I know.

If it really is bothering you, which is sounds like it is (and there's no shame in it) try talking to your parents or your friends. You might find that they share similar feelings. And if that doesn't work, try to write down as many thoughts as you can and give them to your family doctor. S/He may be able to take it from there to help figure out what's going on with you.

Good luck!

My guess is that you are depressed, scared, and anxious. You are going off to college where you will be on your own. You might not know any one and your awesome parents won't physically be their for you. You will have to deal with everything on your own. You will have to provide for yourself and who knows if you will get everything that you need. This is how you are dealing with the change that is happening to you. You know it has to happen and you want it to happen, but a small part of you doesn't want it to and that part is rebelling against the change. You also think that if you stay mad at whoever then that will make it easier when the time comes to say goodbye. But it doesn't you either go away feeling bad because you hurt them or they try to help you more. Just enjoy the time that you have left with the people that you love. Accept the change as a chance to make a fresh start and a chance to start your life and get some experience to get under your belt before you are really on your own. Good Luck!

Your life is changing and people don't handle change well. You are going to college where you will once again be a small fish in a big pond. You will probably see some people that you went to high school with so you can start out by hanging with them. Later, you can join a sorority and have lots of fun with your new friends.

College Advise:
Just remember that you are there to study, so get your homework done before you party. Doing homework as soon as you get back from class makes the job very easy.

whatever it is dont think ure in bad shape cause just knowing that u have this feeling will get u out of it. push it away and think of great times call up a friend and reminice. these are things i did when i felt that way and realized that it was happening. dont go to meds yet, ure mind is extrememly powerful, it controls more than u think. have u ever heard people say that you can make ureself sick if u truly believe u are sick? well i have and its true. use meds as a last resort. try and pull out of it with inner thoughts an strength, not to sounds spiritual or anything but sometimes u can control ure feelings and thoughts on a high level!

It probably is depression or something like that. That can be caused by nothing more than an imbalance in your system - doesn't have to be caused by a bad family situation, etc.

You should bring it up with your parents and your doctor. When you feel down for no reason, it is something that needs attention, and if it is depression, it is not that hard to treat, and once you get on the right treatment you'll feel a lot better and more like yourself.

Good luck.

hi .. i think i can help u.. i sometime find myself in tis same exact situation where im upset but have no idea about what.. i have absoultely everything i need yet i feel weird sometimes...
i think its because of the person you r inside ... although we r happy and proud of what we have there s a part of us that needs other things but we dont seem to care because to our own knowledge we have all we want. the mind works in a very confusng manner and i think thats y u have been feeling a certain way. it also depends on the tone of the surroundings which often has alot to do with ur mood and the way u feel ....just try to analyze urself and try to sit down and thnk abt waht is happening to u pay more close attention...
one thing that helps me alot is expressing it by writing about it.
once u write about it u wil feel better .. it works for me..
i hope this will help u alot bacause i kno what u r going through

You probably just have the jitters about going off to college. Are the feelings you're having mental or physical? In other words, are you in pain or are you just stressing? Look---you're young, you're probably very bright and gorgeous. Take it easy on yourself. Just take deep breaths and relax. You're probably feeling overwhelmed. You're too young for that. Maybe before going to college you can take up some kind of yoga class or talk w/a therapist to find out what eating you up from the root of things. But 1st talk with your parents. You wrote that they are awesome! They'll be there for you! What have you got to lose?

maybe its just anxiety over a big change coming. My daughter got the blues and didnt know why when she started college but it'll pass, hers did. You'll be fine. Start classes, making friends and going out and having fun, it's a big change coming. If after you start school and you still feel this way then you need to go and talk to someone or see a doctor. Good Luck to you.

There is really nothing wrong with you. You could be going through a round of depression. The first thing to do is see a Doctor and tell him your story. Don't be afraid, I have been there before. In time all will balance out. The thing to remember is that you and only you must take the first step in helping yourself. The nice thing about it, is that only you will know about this and no one else. Try it you have nothing to lose. Thanks for asking. Aloha from Hawaii
