Ok I have this friend who owns two cats..The first one was spayed before she got it and the other was a kitten. She has not spayed this cat (now 3 I believe), and the cat has had 5 litters...When I asked her why she hasnt got her fixed, she said I dont have the money..But she has money to go out to dinner everyday..This frustrates me....Why do people get dogs and cats and not get them fixed..I understand if you are going to breed them, but whats everyone else's excuse? Is it that they are lazy or just stupid? I dont care if u dont have money..Then why did u get a dog or cat in 1st place? Also do people who dont put their dogs on hear guard or get them their shots piss u off? They do me...Why cant people be responsible?

This is one of my pet peeves (pardon the pun) . People not being a responsible pet owner. Does your friend have a clue about pet overpopulation? Does your friend know millions of cats (and dogs) are killed every year because way too many are born?
Print out the info at these sites and give it to your friend.

There are low cost vets in most every city. All you have to do to find one is ask at the local animal shelter. They refer people every day.

My question would be: What happened to those 5 litters your friends cat had? Did they become strays or what? That's definitely NOT the sign of a responsible pet owner.

Tell your cheap friend a cat is the least costly of all to have spayed. With a coupon from your local SPCA group she can probably get it done for about 25 or 35 dollars. Do one cat at a time and it wont be so costly. m

Having her cat spayed is not one of her priorities. When she gets tired of her cat having babies. She will take it to the pound with a litter of kittens. And on her card it will say "keeps having babies" Happens all the time.

You can suggest to her. Next time mom has babies to sell the kittens for $10 - $15 each and use that money to get mom spayed.

Look, It is her choice if she wants to get her cat spayed. There is nothing wrong with letting your cats go without being fixed if you don't mind the kittens. (Why it's called "fixed" I don't know. They weren't broken before!) It seems to me that you are just putting your nose in where it doesn't belong. As for the rest of you, how dare you elevate yourselves to the position of judge. I can understand about the shots and other things that keep animals healthy. That is different. But to get "pissed-off" about people not spaying or neutering their cats, that is absurd! Cats can't talk. They can't make the choice to get themselves fixed. It is up to their owners, companions, call them what you will. If the person chooses not to fix their cat, it is their decision. Not yours. Spay and neuter all of YOUR animals. Leave other people to deal with theirs.

well there are people out there that just gets the animal for their best interest and it makes them look good to other people if they tell their friends that they have a cat or a dog. but when people don't take care of their animals, that really p****s me off out right.if you get an animal then it is their responsibility to care for that animal like it was a child, but then again i don't think i would even leave a child in their care for that matter. this person should not even have animals in the first place. how would she like it if you left her in the back yard and not went out there to play or to bring her inside when it is to cold or to hot., not getting her to a doctor if she needed because you don't have money to do it but you can go out every night to have fun with your friends. how would she like that. you can tell her that. it is not fair for the animal to suffer because she would rather go out instead of use the money to get her animals fixed or get their shots that they need to stay healthy.

Whats wrong with people you ask. Well, it could be anything. Some people just don't care, others think they are better then everyone else.
Some just look at you like your stupid, others think everyone else is wrong except them. Some are wrapped up in their own world. Some are looking for answers. some don't want to hear others.
Some think everything is fine, as long as it doesn't bother them. No one wants to be troubled by others problems, so they just say "OH WELL" but what can one do?

People just do not care about the overpopulation and the thousands of dogs and cats killed every day in shelters. They do not want to spend the money to take proper, care of their pets. SAD.

because people think that they only need to buy food and litter. If you get an animal you have to think about the cost. Every 6 months check up, shots, treats, food, injury, toys, spay/neuter, dewclaw, boarding. It's as much as raising a child.
