I doubt that the fundies want an outright theocracy, but they do seem to be intent on getting their religious beliefs validated by state or national laws. I think that they won't be happy until everyone in America is marching in lock step with them, and that anything that they consider to be "ungodly" is outlawed. If that isn't enoough to worry you, look at the loons on Rapture Ready, who have outright declared their intent to do whatever it takes to cause the End Of The World.

History lesson: The Founding Fathers were, for the most part, Deists. A variation of Christianity who believed that God set everything in motion and then has sat back to watch what happens. God is not mentioned at all in the Constitution, and its Bill of Rights is not based on the Ten Commandments. A handful of the Founders were outright atheists, led by Jefferson who championed a clear seperation between church and state. It was never meant to be a chiristian nation at all, but a secular one that was utterly neutral on the subject of religion.

Unfortunately yes. If fundamentalists had their way, America would be a Christian theocracy.

I think a good way to stop it is to get people to take a good long look at their religion and actually question it. Because, for most, it falls apart under real questioning.

They have already taken over they control the candidates of the Republican Party. The are moral minority who seek to impose there "moral principles" upon the majority. Men like Jerry Falwell, Pat Robertson and others are out for money, power and control. I think Jesus would over turn their money tables.

America was started by Christians. Read your textbooks. You've got it backwards. Thats why everything back in the day has God written all over it. Pledge of Allegience...Even our rules are based on the 10 commandments. You've got it backwards.

There is no such thing as the Christian agenda. Whatever God purposes will take place. His will is way stronger than your own. He never lies and He never loses.

We don't want to take over the world, just return this nation to the righteousness of our founding fathers.
