Dietary fiber occurs naturally in all plant foods including grains, fruits, vegetables, nuts, peas and beans...

Foods which are high in fiber include: peas and beans; fresh, raw fruits and vegetables (especially sweet potatoes and Irish potatoes cooked in their skins); end whole rain breads and cereals. Bran, one of the most common types of dietary fiber, is found in whole grain breads and cereals. Cereals that are one hundred percent bran usually have about seven grams of fiber per ounce. Cereals with bran in the name contain less, but they do have more fiber than do other cereals.

I add milled flax seed to my smoothies in the morning, it has 2 grams of fiber in every tablespoon + it's high in Omega-3's and Omega-6's.

I hope your doctor told you to increase your fiber intake over a couple of days. If you jump too radically it can have some unwanted effects like cramping or diarrhea.

Whole grain foods. Bread, cereals, pastas, bagels. Green leafy veggies like brocolli, brussell sprouts, asparagus. Lettuce is a zero calorie food along with cucumbers or celery. Try spinch or cabbage too. Love this stuff.

All bran cereal. I mix it in yogurt and with other cereals. You can buy double fibre bread which is really good. Most vegtables have fibre in them.
