How do you know there wasn't? Have you thoroughly inspected the tomb?

Like any good magician, I always thought Jesus did have an escape door. He and Mary Magdalene were the Siegfried and Roy of their time, to bad he couldn't have left a white tiger in his place, that sure would have made for a good bible chapter.

Pilate had soldiers guarding the tomb, because of concern that the body would be stolen, so they would have checked to make sure that there was no way they could steal the body without alerting the guards.

Additionally, touching a dead body would've made the disciples unclean, and they would have had to explain that. Also, it would go against the character of the disciples to deceive ppl like that, and they were known for their character which is why Jesus picked them.

Finally, a number of the disciples died for believing Jesus rose again, why would they die for something they knew to be a lie?

The bottom line is that you have to accept or reject the account of the empty tomb based on your faith or lack thereof regarding the accuracy of the four gospels. There is no external evidence in support or denial of the claims.

It has been examined and reexamined many times. The rock that was sealed was rolled away and the body was gone, although the burial cloths were still there. End of story.

Do you really think that Roman guards who would be under the penalty of death if the body became missing would let that happen.
Remember they knew He was to rise from the dead, they were there to see it didn't happen.
This was Romans not the UN.

Then the whole ransom idea would be a wash, you would still be filled with sin that would cause you to lose the promise of everlasting life.

No, there isn't. What if Jesus actually did rise from the dead? What if all that is written about Him in the Bible is true? What if everyone else is wrong?
