You symptoms are consistent with Major Depressive Disorder - which is a medical condition that requires therapy to get better. The anti-depressant you were on is a good one, and it frequently takes at least 4-6 weeks to start working. Also, it can usually be slowly increased (by your doctor) to achieve maximum effect. Medcations like the one you were on should NEVER be stopped abruptly, without telling your doctor. If the medication wasn't working for you (I personally think you didn't give it long enough) then there are many other options you can discuss with your doctor. Please go see her immediately to get this taken care of.

You may be having some withdrawal symptoms from the Lexapro. Talk to your doctor about that possibility, and if the two of you decide that the problem is depression and is not due to getting off of Lexapro, consider another antidepressant that's not an SSRI (which Lexapro is).

I tried Lexapro, Zoloft, and Prozac, but none of them really worked for me. The one that ended up working was Wellbutrin. And, Wellbutrin is one of the few antidepressants that can actually help, rather than hurt, your sex drive.

Anytime you mess with your body's chemistry it is going to fight back. So this means that maybe you still need the med, or maybe not. Talk to your Dr. about that. In the meantime relax and remember that it takes time for a person to get back to "normal" after taking meds. If this was just a month ago that you stopped taking it, that is not long enough to judge results. After I had my second child I went on the depro- provera birth control shots and I only had three shots, until I discovered that they weren't right for me. But even after stopping the shots, I still had horrible mood swings for up to a year afterward.
So my advice is to keep in touch with your Dr. and give your self more time to readjust.

We tried to interrupt our canines of snoozing on the mattress earlier our son replaced into born, it did no longer artwork. while my son replaced into born, although, we had my mum and dad watch the canines for 2 weeks (he stayed with them, they stay close by). We further him over for a pass to, then further him abode for sturdy. the 1st time he tried to leap on the mattress-- we advised him no, he jumped remarkable off (i replaced into taken aback-- "NO!" on no account labored earlier!!) The much greater staggering ingredient? it rather is now 4 months later, and he's in basic terms tried to leap up as quickly as considering that then-- and jumped remarkable lower back off, as though he had forgotten it wasn't allowed and remembered on the final 2nd. i do no longer know if we've been fortunate, if he replaced into in basic terms so chuffed to be abode lower back, or if he rather understood that some thing replaced into diverse now. Is having the canines pass to somebody else an selection? Or boarding them for a quick time? We got here across itl helped make the transition much less complicated to easily have a million toddler to look after! sturdy luck!

I happen to know alot about lexipro and meds like it. Don't ever stop these meds without letting your doctor know. It sounds like you might be depressed or pregnate. Go back to your doctor. and good-luck

You should have continued taking it. It will take a while for it to build back up in your system but you should start back. Your doctor prescribed it for a reason.
