I agree with Tequilera. I used to have long hair, past the middle of my back. I always used to try different things like rolling my hair in big curlers or blow drying it upside down to get volume, but an hour later it would be flat again. It's the weight of the hair that pulls it down, making it flat. Try lightening it up with some layers. Tell your stylist that you want to keep your length, but you'd like some layers to take some weight out of your hair.

There's a video on this site that shows you how to blow dry your hair to create volume:

On a side note, I just cut my hair to a little bit past my collar bone with lots of layers. As much as I loved my long hair, I'm really enjoying my new short haircut. Washing and drying it takes no time. Plus, it's a lot easier to create volume with.

You are not going to have volume if your hair is that long. You need to cut it if volume is what you want. Not too short, just maybe mid back with some long layers. Apply volumizing spray before blow drying. Should do the trick!

I understand that you do not want to cut it but if you do not want to style it by using a curling iron. Then you should def. get a cut but I am NOT saying something drastic. But more like a good trim and a new shape...perhaps layers or something to give it volume

you probly arent gonna get much volume out of it unless you layered it or curled it via curling irons or hot rollers or perm.

if you dont want to do either of these things, then wear it half up, and put that part in a messy bun. that will add style to it and will make it look more lively.

try tresseme volume boost, put it on your roots, then blowdry upside down. that may help too.

Get a body wave that will give you the volume you want or you might try getting your hair layered.

try when blow drying it, put some kinda gel in it that is specially made for volumizing hair while drying. i already have enough volume in my hair naturally so i us sleek and smoothing shampoos. but there is this shampoo that is called big and sexy. my aunt has hair like urs but short, and it gave her lots and lots of volume. its like a professional shampoo and its a little expensive but it works really good.

put some mouse on the scalp only, and blow dry side ways and upside down just the first two inches off the scalp rub with your hands and the blowdrier. You dont have to do unnessary damamge by blowdrying the rest just the roots .

you could try putting rollers in the top section of hair to add lift. When you bloe dry you can part your hair on the opposite side that you normally do & dry completely then switch your hair back to it's normal part, I've been doing that lately & it does help.

You can give your hair more volume by backcombing it around the top of your head. Here are detailed instructions for backcombing:
