Being a skinny person and having had that particular problem, I understand. The key is not crunchies...sorry, it is CARDIO. Do at least 3-4 cardio workouts a week. What kind? Doesn't matter, just cardio (running, aerobics, kick-boxing, etc.). You can do some light weight training or pilates or core workouts the other days. Keep in mind, working out an area does not necessarily make that area smaller, that is a myth. Drink water, and drink that instead of all other liquids. You'll lose it slowly but surely. Best of luck!

While crunches will help, you have to put equal emphasis on developing your lateral abdominal muscles. There is a weight machine found at some gyms called a "rotary torso" machine. You straddle the seat and turn either to the right or the left depending on how you have set up the machine. You press your chest against the bar and rotate forward. The tension is adjusted by weights. Developing the lateral muscles stretches out the gut.

Get on the elliptical and let 'em have it!! You have to do cardio for at least a half an hour, where you are making yourself sweat and work. Set little goals. Up the intensity. If you just do crunches, nothing will happen.....you will just make the muscle underneath the fat look better. At least 3-4 times a week. And don't forget to eat!!! After about a month or two, you will notice a difference. Do it to it!!!

You know, calmman7 is right. I too have a gut and it's UUUUGLY! But doing Aerobics, Kick-boxing or Tae-Bo and eating really well helps lose the ugly gut. Trust me, I know. I've had this gut for as long as i remember, and it's not that i'm fat, i just have a lot of untoned muscle and layers of natural body fat.

I always had that problem, what I did was 30 minutes of cardio twice a day, and twice a week I would alternate one session of cardio and one of crunches, I lowered a lot my carb intake -starting with alcohol = ( ....and limited my fats, it is hard but it works, there is nothing that consistency won't make disappear, do you think that all the flat abs celebrities look like that by magic??? Hell no... they work it out a lot, the only problem is that they have the time and the money and we don't, that's why is so much harder for us. Good luck.

Don't worry, girlfriend! I've been trying to lose my gut. I am asking everyone I know and they all say to do crunches and sit-ups. Yeah, I know that it's stupid, but it works. Also, watch what you eat! If you do that, then you will probably lose some of that gut. Not making any promises, but when I started to do this, I lost 2 pounds off of my gut!

the olde fashioned way no salt roman chair situps and leg lifts and then run and bicycle and then swim and then walk and then eat a little less be willing to give the stomach 20 minutes a day as the stomach muscles dont need 24 hours recovery like the other groups so you can work them any time and every day

less intake on bread and pasta, or other foods with high carbs and starches!!
Treadmill 30 mins, every other day
crunches 30 reps/4 sets
6 inches this is where you hold your legs off the ground 6 inches for 30 secs, then 1 min. then a min. and 30 secs.
the whole time you do these exercises, you would want to keep your stomach tight and flat!! Not doing so could cause your stomach to stick out more!!!!

Belly dance. Having a small gut is not a hindrance. Women are supposed to have curves like that. Look throughout history and it is plain to see. It is actually sexier, I think.
I have a small gut and I love to show it off through dance.
