You can do a search on this artist website: www.absolutearts.com or it's sister site, World Wide Art Resources.

Enter whatever information you have-- artist name, medium, subject matter, location, etc. and see what comes up. If the artist happens to be dead, you might get some hits from dealers or galleries that handle the estate of the artist. Dealers can be very useful in finding out information, value and what a realistic market might be for that artist's work. Good luck, hope this helped.
