Paul. He was beaten, thrown in jail, and he still trusted in the Lord, praising Him in jail, and continued telling all about the Good News.

Even though it's old testament, I like either Esther or Moses.
Esther because she used her talents, humility and concern for others to help other people. And she was put into a time and place where she needed to be. Her reason to be Queen was to save her people, but she could not have known that at the time.
I also like Moses because he did things he didn't want to do and accomplished great things as long as he remembered that it was God doing those things. He blew it at the Waters Of Meribah and lost his admission into the Promised land because he felt it was "his" ministry and forgot that these gifts were from God and that God was responsible.
These two have taught me a lot about walking in God's vision for your life. Both were just able to be at the right place in the right time.

Mary Magdalene is my favorite saint. She lived the life of a prostitute, but in the end, she realized her life was headed down the wrong path; and she needed a savior to set her free from sin and the love of a forgiving God to lead her down the right path. St. Mary Magdalene is the perfect example of how its never too late to get close to God.

My favorite is Gideon. God tells him to do something, and he's so chicken that he asks for TWO different miracles to show him that it really is god asking. Then, he goes off to battle, and God tells him he's going to win, and tells Gideon to go walk into the enemy camp, and that God will protect him... and if Gideon is scared, he can bring along a friend.
So, Gideon brings along a friend, as if one other human will be more useful than god... and while they're in camp, he sees two guards talking about this dream they had.
One guard says "I dreamed there was this big cake of barley bread, and it rolled into the camp, and knocked down the king's tent."
The other guard says "GASP! Oh MY GOD! This can only mean that Gideon is coming to destroy us!"
What a coward! what a fun story! What an interpretation. Barley? Oh, that must be this one guy...

Except Jehovah all others are ok. Jehovah was like todays George Bush; he always instructed moses to kill and loot others. I think the best after the Great soul Jesus is really the Mother Mary as she suffered a lot and in front of her they crucified her son. In India you can so many churches, schools and hospitals in the name of mother Mary. I believe Mother Mary is the near to Jesus.

St. Therese of the Child Jesus. she loved Jesus like a child. there is nothing more pure than the love of a child. she showed that even little things, no matter how simple they are, can be used to spread love. God's call to us doesn't need to involve great sacrifices on our part :)
