Yes you can get addicted to caffeine, found in coke, coffee, tea and chocolate. Your withdrawal symtoms are just that- your body has begun to feel that it needs caffeine to survive. You can go cold turkey and suffer, or it might be wiser to cut down how much you drink gradually e.g. if you drink 5 glasses a day limit it to 4 for a week, then 3 for a week until you reach none, or a stopping point you feel is right for you.

Your body does build a tolerance and a psychological need for the substance, and headaches and irritability are the most common symptoms. In my experience though, they only last a day or two at most, and then it's over.
It's best to keep it in check. Having a stimulant in your system all the time quickly can start to affect things like your sleep cycle. The day I stopped drinking it for a long time, I slept the deepest sleep that I could ever remember, because it was the first time in months or longer that I wasn't sleeping while a stimulant was affecting me.

I have a cousin who has the same problem and yes, it's an addiction if you get headaches if you don't have coke. I recommend drinking juices and diet sprite or 7-up. Hope it helps!

Hiya,
if you are really into coke or coffee, there are some without caffeine! like Coca-Cola light (or normal) No Caffeine..
Or if you're struggling with sugar, just because its light doesn't mean its not fattening or doesnt have sugar in...
There's a new one out now , Coca Cola 'Zero'. Means zero sugar zero caffeine. I hope this helps. xxx

That is what happens! Some people get grouchy too. But I would slowly decrease the amount that you drink...and eventually you will stop totally. Don't just stop all together one day or you will have headaches and shakes .....ect.

I do not believe in addiction if I told you to stop scratching your arm You would not say I can't. So just stop eating and drinking things with caffeine in them.
