a form of insanity? If you put you hand in a fire and it hurts, and five minutes later, you put your hand back into the fire,(without changing the circumstances of the initial insertion) wouldn't you expect to be burned? Then why repeat it?

I read between the lines and know what you're getting at with this question.
It's insanity if you realize the effect the fire has on you; it's ignorance if you don't realize the effect.
We keep putting our hands in the fire, as it were, because we are fallen creatures and we have a desire to be burned by the fire within us.
However, the more we know about the fire, the less desire we have to put our hands in it.

***Could repeating the same events and expecting different results be considered...? ***

No,
I don't know about the insanity part, however
the same experiment carried out the same way should produce the same results.

If we drop a pebble from a bridge one thousand times and one time it goes up instead
of down i would be surprised. I would then suspect that i had done something wrong or the conditions were some how different.

I'd keep repeating it until i found out why that one time the stone went up instead of down.

Thanks
And may the Lord have mercy on us all.

*****Zuriocho is definitely insane then, because that is the definition of insanity. ******

ahahaha, good one ,thanks
ahahahaha

They say that in AA.

However -

If a person sticks their hand in a safe and it returns full of 100 dollar bills - Would that be considered insane? Or Wise? That would be a profitable, pleasurable result that you would want to repeat right?

The result of the action is what makes the difference. It is the difference of moving toward pleasure and away from pain.

Because their thinking (psychological state) has been altered by their teachers; here is an example:

If you honestly believe that God wants you to place your hand on the fire and you honestly believe that he will protect you, but instead you are burnt, then you can blame the negative outcome on the Devil.....You could, theoretically, repeat this process throughout eternity.....Because they refuse to see that it is NOT the Devil who is burning them...They can't look in the mirror to see that the problem is self....They are blinded by religion.

So, yeah, I'd say it is a form of insanity....

Maybe there are different factors in the mix the second or third time you try something that may make the outcome different. You can repeat the experiment to find out the cause of something. On the other hand, I see what you're saying. Most of the time it is dumb to try the same thing and look for different outcomes.

Insanity is doing the same thing and expecting different results. If someone was doing that experiment, I would most definately ask them to go to some kind of counseling because they are just going to keep burning themselves until they burn their hand off.

If his card became stolen he can get his money back. it is going to take time, yet banks do artwork with human beings. so a ways because the repeat blunders, i understand I make repeat blunders and that i for one understand they don't look to be executed on objective. My spouse and that i flow through that dance each few months and in view that i'm the single messing up i understand that this is not executed consciously. My advice (and that i had to beg my spouse for this each few months) is to be affected individual. No offense, yet you ain't ideal both and that i'm really particular he's not telling you each little thing that bothers him and yet is more effective than prepared to be affected individual with you. As you're conscious through now nagging does not artwork, yet once you locate the element that does artwork you'll commence to ensure the replace in him.

Of course, no argument, repeating the same action and expecting a different reaction is definitely insanity.

Yes I agree that this would not be a good or positive behavior. But even in science something tends to be done more than once to prove it is a universal occurence and not a one time situation.

Not necessarity insanity. It could be a neurological problem, a compulsive behavior, pure stubborness combined with stupidity or self-mutilation issues.
