Yes, actually raw chicken is way safer to feed a dog than cooked chicken. Cooked chicken bones can splinter and cause a blockage in your dog's digestive system. Raw chicken bones just crunch right up and are safe.

Raw human-grade chicken meat doesn't have worms and the risk of salmonella for a dog is low. Dogs have a much shorter and much different digestive tract than humans. They can eat dirty yucky things and not get sick where a human would be violently ill. I mean, dogs eat poop for pete's sake!

An all-raw diet is recommended by many veterinarians and is safe for dogs. Look on the internet for a "BARF diet" or "raw feeding" and you'll find many resources on feeding a dog raw meat and fish.

Only humans have such a delicate little digestive systems that we have trouble eating raw food.

And I gotta say, a little freaked out at the ignorance here. If you don't know FOR A FACT that what you're saying is correct, don't say it. Just because you have a "gut feeling" that raw chicken is bad for dogs just because you wouldn't want to eat it, or have some bizarre old wive's tale about worms in chicken, don't post an answer. In this case, all the answers saying to cook the chicken could actually lead to the dog being asked about DYING becuase of ingesting a splintered chicken bone.

THE FACTS are that raw human-grade meats are very good for dogs with very very few exceptions.

Science. Get to know it.

Raw chicken is a major part of the BARF diet - Bones And Raw Food otherwise known as Biologically Appropriate Raw Food.

Raw chicken bones do not splinter as cooked ones do, and raw chicken is no different from what wild dogs eat. Just make sure it isn't raw chicken that's been sitting around collecting bacteria.

COOKED chicken bones can splinter- causing perforations in throat and stomach. raw chicken bones do not splinter. I feed chicken back (RAW) at least every other day. The bones are highly digestable- more so than store dog food. (less poop too!) research the B.A.R.F. diet for dogs, the Internet has TONS of good info. Also read up on what is in store bought dog food- it will turn your stomach. There is evidence that all of the chemical processing and pure garbage that goes into commercial dog food can cause cancer and illness in your beloved pet.

It is sort of scarey how many people do not have a clue about stuff.

Yes you can feed RAW chicken to dogs. Many people who feed the BARF diet feed raw chicken necks and backs and other things to dogs. It is a very healthy diet and fine for dogs.
Do not ever feed cooked chicken with bones as they can splinter and kill your dog.

If you are looking into this seriously, there is a diet called BARF (Bones and Raw Food) that some people feed their dogs. You would have to do some research on the topic, as I'm not to familiar with it, but it would give you the run down.

Yes you can and it is very safe and healthy for them. Raw chicken does not give dogs worms. Repeat. Raw chicken does not give dogs worms. Repeat. Raw chicken does not give dogs worms. Mosquitoes, fleas, and hookworm larva from dog feces that is deposited in dirt are all ways that your pet can get worms, but raw chicken does not give dogs worms.

I would not suggest that you feed your dog raw chicken for te same reason that you don't eat raw chicken. Also if you feed them cooked chicken, make sure that there are NO bones in it or they could choke on them
