I sleep walk almost every night. I know because my mom has to get up and guide me back to my bed. Are there any good tricks to help me sleep walk less or not at all? I'm just scared that I am going to hurt myself or something.

From a sleepwalker and psych grad: don't worry about hurting yourself-your body/mind won't purposely put itself in danger. You will do funny things that you can laugh about the next day, or at worst the most that will happen is you will wake up in a different place and be a little scared but be perfectly fine. I woke up in my driveway once outside. Scared and confused, but okay.
Sleepwalking is more common when you are young. You will likely grow out of this. Also, it is linked with stress. So you may be making it worse by thinking about it too much. Just realize what this really is-a funny unique thing that you do! I don't believe I sleepwalk anymore but my family and I still laugh about silly things I did :-)
Oh, and please don't listen to the people that say to trick yourself and tie yourself. When you sleepwalk your thoughts are pretty clear at the time on what you want to do-you will likely just untie yourself and continue on your way. And you may actually hurt yourself if you are tied up. Please use common sense on this one :-(

im the same way... i almost felll off of my stair case sleep walking...
try no food before bed....
don't do too much before you go to bed...
settle down for an hour before u go to bed.
relax...
and it can also be stress..

ok heres the plan..........when u go to bed every night, walk with rope and two pairs of handcuffs.it may be a jumble to get off the bed at mornings,but it will help stop u from sleepwalking.

I guess you could be chained down in bed or put in a straight jacket.

yes tie your toes together so when you try to walk you fall down and wake up. and dont eat spicy foods
