I could not agree more! I think passengers who put their life in other people hands should wear them. But the driver his under his own control, making his own decisions!

Those who investigate such things found you stand a much higher chance of surviving a wreck if you are wearing a seat belt. As a result of this information it became law in all states and on a federal level that all vehicles after a certain model year would be equipped with seat belts, and it would be an offense to not wear the seat belt. Saved a bunch of lives of course.
Simple answer, it's the law. Click it, or ticket.

Your life can also effect other people .Being cavalier with "your life" by not wearing a seat belt-could impact not only your passengers-who would then be without a driver , should you be ejected ( and decapitated ) ; but think of all the rescue folks who would have to scrape "your life" off public property . Not to mention your grieving family and the cost of a funeral. Should you survive ( which , without a seat belt-bad odds), you will tie up medical personnel at a hospital, trying to sew you back together -and quite possibly be taking up space from those who really do give a hoot about "their life" . Better to be safe than sorry ; and it's the law .

Because I'm sick and tired of paying to have your sorry @$$ put back together at my expense both as a policyholder and a taxpayer. Or to support the families and children left behind on welfare as a result of your stupidity.
I was in a head-on collision a number of years ago with a fool who wasn't wearing a seatbelt. The circumstances of the accident were such that the accident never would have happened if he had been wearing a seatbelt. I was belted in and walked away with a few bruises. He was ejected from his pickup and killed instantly when it rolled over him. He left a wife and 4 kids behind. She didn't work outside the home and there was no life insurance. To my knowledge, they're still on welfare.

Well my friend if you think it's just your life involved think again.First there is the family and all it goes through in any accident seat belts or not. They worry and they fear for your wellbeing.Wheather you think they do or not. Then we have the rescue crews public service workers who man the 911 lines. And police amongst a host of others.
The 911 opperators called.Worry constantly. That help will get to you in time to aid you. This in turn. Can make for a bad day for them. If things don't work out for you. They have to deal with so much greif and pain from their jobs allready.Don't you think.
Now comes the police aspect of it all. They have to go speeding through traffic.(which is not safe under any conditions ever).Just in case your in peril. Upon their arrival. If you are mangled up beyond recognition.(Which by the way, Happens quite often from not wearing your seat belts). They have to look at the Guts, Blood and the Gore before them. Then keep it all in their minds. Untill The reports and investigations are over. And if you think the vivid pictures in their minds of these thoughts fade with time.Your dead wrong my friend. It stays in them forever. And affects all kinds of things in their lives.Family, Work and other aspects also.
this is just the starting affects of not wearing you seat belt. You sometimes go to the hospital to be patched up.Then it is the doctors and nurses turn to get frustrated.Just because you thought seat belts were stupid. while you are healing.(That is if you live) Your work mates have to pick up your slack while you are recouperating. This is frustrating and actualy drags down production efforts by them.Due to the stress of having to do your job as well as theirs. Then in turn. Their families have a strain put on them at home. Because work for your mates was a hassell that day.The list goes on and on like this with almost no end in sight. So my friend next time Just put your seat belts on strap your kids that love you in tightly. And enjoy YOUR LIFE! So others can move on with theirs.I hope this is informative enough to make you think next time you don't buckle up.

Do you like your life? If yes than a seat belt can save it one day. If no then don`t bother, but remember, now you can get stopped for not wearing one.

It seems to me that you care for your life, and by wearing a seat belt you protect your life.

Because when you crash and end up totally disabled but not dead it will cost tax payers to support you. LIFE is a bit more complex than just saying something as simple as......it's "my life".....why can't I just do as I please. Most of what we do has a ripple effect just as though a stone has been cast into the water. Wearing a seat belt saves lives and protects people from serious injury. Seems to me it's the smart thing to do as well as the responsible thing.
Buckle up!

For your insurance company and the people who love you. Its a matter of how badly and how much and accident will cost and how you can mitigate those costs by simply wearing a seat belt. Plus the people who love you appreciate you coming home.
My added incentive for wearing mine is if I die in a car accident wearing it my life insurance pays out on extra 10 K kicker to my husband. I like to think of him being taken care of in life and death.

i totally agree! i got a No-Belt ticket a month ago! it was $125. What do the cops care! i understand if my ticket was for speeding, bcuz then im indangering the lives of others! But no Belt only affects me. Now if i don't buckle my kids, then i see the point of a No-Belt ticket. But if you are alone i think it should be ur choice if you want to wear it or not! Nobody gives me a ticket if i smoke a cigarette, and thats bad for me and everybody around me!!!

How selfish are you? It may be your life, but what about the people who will be hurt if you're taken before your time? One thing's for sure: you can't pay your own funeral bill, so if you're not going to wear your seatbelt, and God forbid you should die, one of the things that should go through your mind as your skull is being separated by your dashboard is whether or not you have a family member that has about $6,000 just lying around in case he or she happens to be related to an idiot who refused to wear their seatbelt.
