I am brewing my own coffee to save money, but it's just not the same....

I like the brown to dark brown roasts. I used to dig the dark roasts, but I found you could taste and smell the coffee better with the lighter roasts.
I mostly use Second Cup coffee, it's a bit like Starbucks up here in Canada
I drink it black mostly, but will add bailey's, frangelico, amaretto, or maply cream liquor on weekends.
Your brewed coffee isn't as good as the store's? That's odd, mine is usually better, make sure you put enough in your filter (the RIGHT filter), that's it's been ground properly, and that you store it away from the light and if possible in an airtight container.

I actually prefer Wal-marts brand of coffee. Arabic roast. I add french vanilla creamer to it. yummy
