im considering attending the western culinary institute in protland, oregon. but im having reservations about it cause its part of le cordon bleu. but i was a school for 20 some years before le lecordon bleu bought in.

That said, you might ask about the new school culinary school in Coos Bay at Southwestern Oregon College (socc.edu). It's not part of Le Cordon Bleu, but people say it is a good low cost alternative if your goal is culinary and not high end job placements.
