Yes. However, you have to understand that there is no magic to how they work.

For example, let us say I'm going to do a working to find a love interest. Hey, I'm a gay guy stuck in the bible belt, what can I say?

So I do all this weird mumbojumbo garbage. But what else do I do? Do I sit on my butt and wait for my dream guy to drop in my lap in leather? Heck no. Because I've invested the psychological effort into ritual, I'm gonna get off my lazy butt and go socialize at the bars and at leather parties. And won't you know it? Because I'm out and about, I find that special someone.

Is it magic? No. Did it work? Yup.

It's all the principle of "Acting in Accord", the most important part of ritual workings -- act like it's going to happen and it will. The mumbojumbo is just there to focus your intentions.

Most of the time they work. But the actual spell has more to do with knowing how to manipulate energy than the specific material things used. It is nothing like the fiction that you see on television. It is something that one learns over time with a LOT of practice. If magic didn't work then the practice would've died out many centuries ago.

Wicca is a religion (a way to worship deity/ies), not a type of magic. For some Wiccans, magic plays a very small (or non-existent) part in their religion. And if magic is all one is interested in, a religion is not necessary.

I have yet to see a textbook spell really work (by textbook I mean the kind where you look up a 'spell' say a chant and burn candles). However, I do believe that there is a "magic" of sorts that this sort of thing draws on, but its not as easy as reciting a poem.

The main component is belief. These 'spells' are just conduits that help to focus your will on the belief that you can change something. But it is your belief, not the 'spell' that does the work. A similar principal is at work behind the idea that prayer can heal. Prayer is simply a focus for the religious to focus their will on making someone better.

I am a christian and thought i was immune to these things, but my husband ex-girlfriend was jealous because he married me instead of her started putting spells on me and my life has never been the same. She has tried to kill me, put me in jail and make my husband divorce me all through voodoo. I have prayed about this and nothing seems to work I have been dealing with this for 3yrs. but i know that God hates witchcraft and the things you do will come back to you even if it takes a while. I have had to consult a spiritual advisor who is counter acting all that she is doing to me.It is not a matter of beliving spells do work and are wrong to do to anyone.

There most surely are powers in the spiritual world and you must first become educated as to what you are dealing with and then you must be careful as to which spiritual force you are calling upon.
There is God and his angels and there is Satan and his angels or another word for satans angels is demons. Have you ever heard of the book,"Demons and Angels" its all very confusing at first. They all have there specific duties and or jobs, almost like an army and they fight against eachother and their main purpose is to fight over peoples souls. Yes, you and me, thats why they fight and thats just one reason why you see so much evil in the world, but anyway thats another topic, but like I said you must be careful !

They are dangerous. Stay away from them at all costs. They can only harm you.
Sorcery
(Includes any of the following:) Divination/Magicians/Witchcraft/Wizards/Soothsayers/Necromancers/
Fortunetellers/Astrologers/Familiar Spirits/Charmers/Black Magic/Ouija boards/ Dungeons and Dragons/Harry Potter, wiccan, psychics, tarot cards, spells, ETC.

Any and all of the above are Satanic or demonic or both. We humans are to have nothing to do with them. They cannot help us . They will only bring harm to us, now, in the future or in eternity.
“31Regard not them that have familiar spirits, neither seek after wizards, to be defiled by them: I am the LORD your God.” Leviticus 19:31.
“11Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer. 12For all that do these things are an abomination unto the LORD: and because of these abominations the LORD thy God doth drive them out from before thee.” Deuteronomy 18:11-14.
“19And when they shall say unto you, Seek unto them that have familiar spirits, and unto wizards that peep, and that mutter: should not a people seek unto their God? for the living to the dead?” Isaiah 8:19. (We are to seek God, not the dead.)
“ 2Then the king commanded to call the magicians, and the astrologers, and the sorcerers, and the Chaldeans, for to shew the king his dreams. So they came and stood before the king.” Daniel 2:2. (Chaldeans were known for their magic.)
“10The Chaldeans answered before the king, and said, There is not a man upon the earth that can shew the king's matter: therefore there is no king, lord, nor ruler, that asked such things at any magician, or astrologer, or Chaldean.” Daniel2:10.
“6And when they had gone through the isle unto Paphos, they found a certain sorcerer, a false prophet, a Jew, whose name was Barjesus: 7Which was with the deputy of the country, Sergius Paulus, a prudent man; who called for Barnabas and Saul, and desired to hear the word of God. 8But Elymas the sorcerer (for so is his name by interpretation) withstood them, seeking to turn away the deputy from the faith. 9Then Saul, (who also is called Paul,) filled with the Holy Ghost, set his eyes on him. 10And said, O full of all subtilty and all mischief, thou child of the devil, thou enemy of all righteousness, wilt thou not cease to pervert the right ways of the Lord?” Acts 16:6-10.
“8But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.” Revelation 21:8. (Sorcerers are headed for the Lake of Fire, the second death.)
“14Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.  15For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie.” Revelation22:15. (The tree life is eternal life, the city here is Paradise.)

God does not approve of anyone attempting to learn of the future except what He has revealed in The Holy Bible. He does not approve of anyone attempting to contact the dead for any reason. He does not approve of playing games or telling stories about sorcery. God does not approve anyone seeking power from any of these sources. They are all Satanic/Demonic. Anyone who does these things or anyone who consults such is in danger of burning in hell forever.
