Serious answer: The water becomes stagnant in the bottle.
foolish answer: The use by date is on the bottle because the little person who stamps the dates on every item we use would be out of a job.

Because it is actually toilet water,the longer it sits the more bacteria can breed.Therefore it has an experation date to let you know when the e-coli is too high for human consumption!!!

because no human can reach a mountain and then drink it.. they would die by the time they got there. besides, when they put it in a bottle, the bottle has sodium and sodium "salt" expires.
