Thinning it should not effect the length as they're taking off the width...not the length. But just in case, tell your hairdresser that you want the length to be kept the same. Also, if you want healthy long hair, you need to have a regular trim, about every 10 weeks.

Get it trimmed every 6 weeks. It will keep the split ends at bay, and promote hair growth. I don't advise thinning it out, because it may wreak havoc on your hair later, but if it is so thick it's unmanagable, go for it.

You should just go every 3-6 months. And when you do go, just get it trimmed. If it gets to being too long, the next time you go, just get it cut to the length you want, then start the cycle all over again.

you could always hold off on your visits until you think your ends might be getting damaged. not a good idea to wait too long, though. especially if you often use irons, products that dry the hair, or stay out in the sun too much.

dont get your hair thinned if you are a female..it will look like breakage and make your hair poofier. if you want it thinner get layers. and if you want it long you are going to have to let it grow. go for a trim every 2 months if you flat iron a lot and you can go for up to 4 months if you dont use heat on your hair for a trim, will prevent split ends....trimming will not make your hair grow faster

hair grows half an inch per month.have your hair trimmed every 6 weeks. having your hair thinned doesn't take any length off your hair so you will be fine.just be patient.

you should try to go to your hairdresser every six weeks and only get a little bit trimmed, like maybe a sixth of an inch.
