Seriously but atheists and agnostics state that nothing can make them believe and many theists have explained that faith is not a physical, evidence type thing but a belief and a feeling inside ones heart. So why ask for evidence when you know we Christians consider it irrellevant?

I am a Catholic and I feel no need to prove anything to anyone. Faith is something I believe and I accept and I know with my heart.

Greg: there are many things I neither believe nor disbelieve as we do not know as for the next child thing I would not believe mainly because I can have no more children.

Too many people get caught up in that arguement, on both sides. Unfortunately there are Christians who don't consider it irrelevant, and seek proof of God's existence, which by default means they have little or no faith. Good question.

One of the debates in philosophy is whether or not humans can trust our 5 senses. We use them everyday and they seem to give accurate feedback about the world around us but how much "faith" should we put in that?
Yes, God may or may not exists. As an agnostic, I accept that my life will be the same for either case. There are so many things that I can not explain. It doesn't mean they don't exist but only that I am not qualified to make that judgment. God knows this. God knows I know this. God know the path my life will take. God knows how to change my direction. God knows whether or not I will be saved. God knows the consequences of every act. God knows what ripple effect creating the Bible would have so he has always known who will be put their faith in a book and who will not. Another option is that God has been sitting back as a casual observer and all this was created by man without intervention from God. The possibilities are endless and to me, "inherently unknowable." See links.

I think the reason is that many thesis are trying to "prove" their beliefs using science.
The entire creationism vs. evolution argument is a perfect example. Creationists are trying to use science to prove that the earth was created in 6 days.
Part of the scientific method is the testing and "Falsifiability" which states that all hypotheses and theories are in principle subject to disproof.
There is a point at which there might be a consensus about a particular hypothesis or theory, yet it must in principle remain tentative. As a body of knowledge grows and a particular hypothesis or theory repeatedly brings predictable results, confidence in the hypothesis or theory increases.
Since creationism was a one-time, unobservable event, it can not pass this test and is subject to this.

We know you consider proof irrelevant but only in this one connection, there is no consistency here, you consider proof irrelevant and we consider your fabricated God stories irrelevant without it...so I guess we are even.
The burden of providing proof is always on those making the claim, if you don't care to provide any fine but don't expect us to take you seriously and there is no problem. It's when you start demanding state handouts for special faith schools that this all gets a bit much.
Like any quack medicine or other quack treatment that has no evidence to show it's efficacy religion should now be put to very close scrutiny to see if it really is beneficial or detrimental to society.

And also with you.
That's because then they don't have to take the leap of faith that is essential to Christianity: believing in a God whose existence can't be physically proven because His existence isn't physical to begin with.
Faith is both knowledge and feeling, and many non-believers are only able to accept truths they can know, but the problem for them is that some truths have to be felt to be known.
This is the simplest way I can describe faith.

Do you also believe in unicorns, bigfoot, fairys, leprechauns, extraterrestrials, ghosts, the loch ness monster . . . .probably not - that is, unless there is PROOF. Oh yeah, proof is irrelevant. It isn't so much that Jesus didn't exist that we have a problem, but the connection between Jesus and God reads like science fiction. If I told you your next child was going to have four heads, three arms, and have antennae coming out it's toes, you wouldn't believe me - unless there was proof, right?

"For Non-Believers...no amount of proof can convince them, while for Believers Faith is all they need".
I dont know but usually its just to smack us believers (of any religion) in the face by saying that there is no proof and therefore our faith is false (the "If it isnt there then it obviously isnt" argument).
This whole debate on whether God exists, whether Creationism or Evolution and all other similar questions is pointless. Who cares really? Leave believers alone and leave non-believers alone guys!!!

sweetheart everyone asks for proof but even as you know i can provide proof of my beliefs .. solid tangible proof .. even this would not be enough for some
proof is what is acceptable to us and us only .. and no matter what you gave people .. even if that was solid evidence .. it still would not be enough
throughout the years of spirit communication , including physical demonstrations .. the sceptics still refused to accept it and even lied about their findings in ridiculous ways because they simply could not accept it
believe what you believe and know it is true for you and I'm very sure that even you get physical evidence .... but that is for you personally and you are wasting time and energy worrying about what others need as their proof
just keep being you xxx

faith IS the evidence. even in science there is the principal that "whatever we can conceive of exists somewhere". Main thing is to not be too wooried about "proving " anything, but just be the best example you can be in the way you treat other people.

**Why is it some people keep asking for physical proof when we have explained that to us it is not needed?***
I don't know, what i do know is that i am very thankful that the Justice system does not
work with a just because attitude.
As you well know extraordinary claims require
extraordinary proofs. Just believe me, does not suffice for most folks.
If it did we would still be burning folks at the stakes for their opinion.
Have a blessed day.
