My Grandfather was almost completely bald, and I got a feeling that I will be headed that way when I get older. (Did you know that you inherit baldness from your mother!?! It's true, look it up..)

I think it began as a receding hairline, then it overtook his entire head...

Hello Jonny-5 !
I happen to like receding hairlines; I think they are very sexy ... ** wolf whistles **
Hmmn, which is worse ? That depends on personal preference, I'll say baldness; although I really don't see that being a big deal either..
Well, if either or both happens to you, please, whatever you do, for the love of Mike, Do. Not. Get. A. Toupee. I'd rather see you bald as a bean than, wear one of those fake looking rugs.. Ok ?

Here's an idea; you could always sport a baldie !!!

There aren't enough bald white men around- that is if you don't count the skinheads !!! *** yuk yuk ***

Hmmn, what have you been putting in your hair ?

Do your best to make sure that your scalp is clean from styling products, because this clogs the hair folicles, preventing your scalp (which is skin, which is an organ ) from getting oxygen, which can slow the growth rate.

Too much animal fat in your diet ? that might be a problem...

Well you did say it was genetic.

Check out this website, ok?

Anyhoo,
Love and light to you brahman,
tishy

In my opinion a receding hairline is worse than a bald spot on top of the head because if not treated well that constant hairloss may gradually lead to total baldness one day whereas a bald spot may or may not mean you'll loose all your hair overtime.
But the good news about both cases is that nowadays you can wear wigs, hats as facades or eventually a hair implantation as option to take.
You just make your choice.

Yeah, you can inherit it through your mother. Try Regaine for Men lol.

A bald spot is worse cos it makes you look like a monk. You'd still look good anyway.

If you have gained a lot of weight recently or have been under undo stress, then these can be factors which could cause this type of balding. Environmental factors such as the water used in shampooing and even the shampoo itself can cause this. Or even hair products such as gel or spray.
