I also got pregnant with my second child on the pill because I was so bad at remembering to take it. I got Mirena while I was still breastfeeding. It has worked great. I've had it 3 years now. There was a little moodiness due to the hormones at first. It slows your monthly flow as well; mine has actually stopped completely. It has been a great solution for me and my family.
Ask your doctor about it too.

I have had 2 kids and my youngest is 3 months old. I got the Mirena about 2-3 weeks ago. It didn't hurt or anything when my dr put it in, but I did have some cramping for the next day or so. That one person was right about the first period. I had that last week and it was rough!! I felt like I was 14 all over again. But I hear that they get easier and almost disappear. I would recommend it to someone. It's great and maintenance free!!!

I just had our 4th child, he is 6 months old. I did a lot of research about mirena and I am going to get it. I always forgot the pill and I have been basically breastfeeding for 5 years straight (I have a 5 year old, 3 year old and new one, nurse them for 2 years each) and the mini pill made me spot all the time. The IUD is safe, effective and easy. I am 32, don't want any more kids, but don't want to tie anything either. I have a lot of friends who have it, all say really great things about it, so I will go for it.

I've had mirena for about 14 months now and it's the best thing I ever got. I had a problem taking my pills also, so after my baby was born I chose this option. I haven't had any problems with it, and in fact I don't have a period anymore, I just spot and not for very long. It does hurt when they put it in though, but it feels alot better than child birth that is for sure! the best part is I can have another baby when I want one.

particular! i like it. i've got had it for 3 years now without incident. i've got no longer been pregnant in any respect. it rather is super no longer having to take pills and your classes are next to none. the only time i'm getting a era is after tough intercourse and then it rather is regularly recognizing/very easy bleeding for a million-2 wipes on the rest room no longer requiring a tampon and a rigorous workout consultation/exchange in ordinary on the well being middle. i did no longer earnings weight upon getting on it and that i've got no longer had any issues with it. it rather is inserted and remains interior the final place and is honestly accessable. it rather is unlikely everywhere and if it does get lodged it rather is not going to return out or disappear interior your physique. i'm particular you will possibly sense soreness if it dislodged, that's quite no longer susceptible to take place. communicate on your well being practitioner approximately it and enable them to describe the hazards and reward with you. i'm probable going to get yet another one inserted while my 5 years are up.

No I haven't used it but it is definitely not nearly as permanent as getting tubes tied and you are still very young.

Here's another good web site on it:

My friend uses it.

She loves it.

The only thing she didn't like was she bled and had pretty bad cramps for the first month.
