Maybe that is the way they were brought up as kids, always on the defensive, always feeling like they were being criticized and attacked, so they are still that way as adults.

Some people are just more sensitive than others, and sometimes everybody has an off day and doesn't respond to something very well and overreacts.

Maybe they have been put down a lot in their lives meaning that they fail to see the funny side even when it is said with love

It's the way of the world now. Kids seem to learn this attitude in school, totally PC crazy!! Have fun with life and learn to laugh at yourself!

I agree with the first answer... what are you talking about anyways for people to feel offended?? that doesn't matter anyways, but maybe your not saying your words the way others want to hear it.

Because they have issues. They are insecure and have very low self esteem which puts them on the defensive.

I think it's because they are self-centered, thinking that everything that goes on is about them. My mother-in-law is that way, drives me bannanas.
