Certainly there is no school to teach people how to raise a child. Certainly babies do not come with instruction booklets or there is not even a proven method to up bring a productive citizen. Although many psychologists would like to think so. Don't spank, says doctor spock, now we have an adult generation of brats!
People should be held accountable for their actions. However even asking for help will put them under a constant microscope by the DCFS (dept of child & family services). Most people would like 'advice' or even just methods to make child raising more bareable and more enjoyable. Not a constant big brother watching over them. So they don't ask for help. DCFS would have you believe that spanking your child is abuse. I've seen parents never lay a hand on their child, yet scream obcenities into their ears degrading their existance.

To some degree. But the abusive parent should get the same thing done to them ESPECIALLY if it was a person from a functional home. Like the lady in NJ who starved the foster kids and fed hers. they only gave that witch 7 yrs. she should be starved, etc and treated the same way she treated those kids from age 5-19. that would be the perfect punishment for her!

Parents who honestly abuse their kids should be held fully responsible for their actions. Unless you've grown up in a cave, you know it's wrong to beat a child or punish them in other Draconian ways.
I'm not talking about spankings (which I do believe are acceptable), but hitting with open hands or fists, denying food, locking them in a basement, etc. - that sort of abuse. How can any adult not realize that that sort of behavior is wrong regardless of how they were raised?

They should be put through therapy because abuse is usually the result of them being abused themselves. The kids should be taken away and they should also do jail time and have to do therapy while in there. Rehabilitation.

It more than likely is a result of how they were brought up. However, once they reach adulthood, it is time to take responsibility for their actions. Why would they want to harm their babies as they themselves were harmed as a child? There is no excuse for it and they should be punished justly!

Most people that are abusive to their kids try to blame their parents being abusive to them . my parents are Mexican and the where beaten up by their parents when they were kids and they never put a hand on me and my brothers they know how it feels and they weren't ganna put their kids thru that so i feel that people who blame others are really sick in their heads and should be punished
