Why is it always 'stole my heart'? Why not 'burgled my heart' or 'robbed my heart' or 'bandited my heart'?

A thief is anyone who steals, (i.e. takes what is not his). A robber takes property, usually money from the presence of the victim, using force or threat. A burglar breaks into a building or vehicle and takes property or commits some other felony therein. Bandit is not a precise legal term, but usually refers to one who waylays travelers and robs them.

because to steal is the verb. It's not thiefed my heart. And stole generally means the whole thing. I stole a loaf of bread. Robbed is generally a location you steal something from. I robbed a bank.

thiefs simply take
robbers take by force
burglars take in cognito, nightime and such
bandits are part of a band/group ov thieves etc.

burgled my heart sounds painful, robbed makes me think of muggers in a hospital, and banditted isnt a word.

And so I quit the police dept.
and got myself a steady job
and though she did her best to help me
she could steal, but she could not rob......

Steal is without somebody knowing it, robbing is to steal it from them with their knowledge (and maybe a gun?)
