One doesn't need to be a christian to love, admire and respect Jesus. In fact, christianity today has almost entirely become a religion ABOUT Jesus based upon Paul's atonement doctrine, rather than the religion OF Jesus, meaning the religion Jesus himself believed and taught. Part IV of the Urantia Book is a narrative of the complete life and teachings of Jesus, from his birth through his death and resurrection.

I have heard a lot of non-christians claim that Jesus was a great teacher or great prophet but not the Son of God. Of course if that were true then he was also a sociopath who went around claiming to be the Son of God all the time and led to countless people sacrficing their lives under torture for no reason! I think it's just a uninformed cop out when they say those things.

great question. many people have made up false Jesus' in thier minds who they claim to love. just read some of the answers to your question. however, no one can truly love the biblical Jesus unless they have been born again. so the answer is yes and no depending on what you meant. the true, biblical Jesus no one loves unless they are a Christian. the many other Jesus doctrines that are out there, sure people "love" that Jesus, but he is just a figment of their imagination. they just take certain things about the bible and disregard other things to suit their own desires. (see all muslims, jehovah's witnesses, etc...) they all claim to love jesus but the jesus they love is much different than the one represented in the bible.

Yes,
I am a Hindu and love Jesus for his integrity with god. He had visioned the universal Divinity contained in Him and made the world visualise it through simple faith. I do not know the Christian way of paying devotion to Him but I am devoted to him in the same way as I am devoted to the faith of Hinduism.

John 14:15
"If ye love me, keep my commandments".
Jesus
John 14:21
"21He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him."
Jesus
1 John 2:3-5 3And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments. 4He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. 5But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him.
1 John 3:22-24
22And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight.
23And this is his commandment, That we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as he gave us commandment.
24And he that keepeth his commandments dwelleth in him, and he in him. And hereby we know that he abideth in us, by the Spirit which he hath given us.
