Yes, perception is everything to a person and most people well die for it whether its the reality or not. The fact is our minds our so powerful in creating a reality for us and determining our nature that it can put possibilities in front of us that don't even exist. This in a lot of ways can leave us feeling trapped in our lives or a bad situation that we can easily leave but don't see any possible ways out, with in our own perceptions of course. I bring up the abusive husband and abused wife, both could change, but only the victim ever does because in the end only her survival is threaten which can be a good motivator for change if you can surpass hopelessness. Ether way some never leave the situation when in reality it would be better if they did. Crazy creatures us humans but without some indisputable truth outside of us its easy for us to loss ourselves within that reality we created, especially if we base it only on what others tell us.

great question and something i have question for quite some time and put to the test on several occasions
i have asked both adults and children to look at the same scenery and tell me what colours they see
compared to the children who seen many many colours , the adult would only name a couple of obvious ones
for example when looking at grass , the adults would say some green some yellow and a little brown .... the child would say purples pinks greens yellows and browns
and on closer inspection the children were correct , as you could see little flowers here and there coming up from the grass
i think that there is so much more to see in the world , that as adults we get lazy in our perception ... or perhaps we just don't see it anymore
i have yet to do more experiments on this xxx
