I really don't think so, but I'm sure others do.

The story of Atlantis grew from legends and descriptions of the original Garden of Eden. There is even now an expedition in the eastern Mediterranean Sea which has found evidence of Atlantis/Eden.
73:3.1 The committee on location was absent for almost three years. It reported favorably concerning three possible locations: The first was an island in the Persian Gulf; the second, the river location subsequently occupied as the second garden; the third, a long narrow peninsula -- almost an island -- projecting westward from the eastern shores of the Mediterranean Sea.
73:3.2 The committee almost unanimously favored the third selection. This site was chosen, and two years were occupied in transferring the world's cultural headquarters, including the tree of life, to this Mediterranean peninsula. All but a single group of the peninsula dwellers peaceably vacated when Van and his company arrived.

I saw an interesting program on satellite TV about Atlantis. It was presented that the island that 'sunk' was actually devastated by a volcanic eruption and the Egyptians went to this island to help the survivors and to bring anyone who wanted to go back with them to Egypt. It was during the time that Egypt was a world power. The legend began this way and the ancient Greeks also spoke of it. It was an island near present day Crete.
I never believed the Atlantis legend even though many thought that the island of Bimini, which is near where I grew up WAS Atlantis.

Michael Daniel, interesting name two, two, two names in one, anyway yes Atlantis did exist a long time ago along with:
Unicorns
Elfs
Dragons
Tom Cruise's baby
Good actors and actresses (nowadays a rare breed)
Honest politicians (there had to be one)
Peace on earth (at the beginning, until that damned apple)
Ghosts
the Boogieman (now called Keith Richards)
Low gas prices
Mom and Pop stores
Handshake contracts
Ipana toothpaste
Dutchboy cleanser
Legal aliens
Well, that's it for now, I am sure I (or you) can think of some more to add to the list, but you have a great day.

There can be arguments made that some areas might be the location of Atlantis. I think however that it isn't some super advanced society. It may have been the equivalent of using iron when others were using bronze. To us now, it would seem like an ancient not very advanced civilization still.
However, my personal opinion is with the guy that said Plato used it as a metaphor in his writings.

Yes.. I do believe it existed and YES it did exist a long time ago... probably 2-3 thousand years ago. I have been following the stories on it.. first they suspect it(Atlantis) was there.. then they suspect it was over at another place, etc etc. and of course, NO ONE can say for sure where it was located before it was destroyed or submerged under water

Atlantis was created by Plato as an example of the ideal society and its ultimate failings.
Unfortunately, I dont think it was actualy a real place. I am not saying there are no sunken cities, just that its not 'Atlantis' as such.
That said, does anyone remember the old computer game 'Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis'? Ahhh, nostalgia.

Probably not. But if it did, it may have existed in what is now the Mediterranean Sea. It is possible that the Mediterranean was a giant valley that was flooded (a basis of the Noah's Ark myth, among other "great flood" myths) and washed over a civilization that Plato spoke of in his dialogues.

There is geological evidence that such a continent did exist, which would explain the migration of people and animals from the Middle East and Europe to the Americas. As to whether there was any great civilization there is speculation. Jesus loves you.

I think it did. There are columns and walls on the sea floor that are way too far from land to have just fallen off a continent. It also is a theory that it wasn't an island but a city. When the glaciers started to melt it got flooded. Makes sense to me.
