I fretted over how to ask this question for a long while. I considered saying, Native Americans, Indians, Aboregine, Indigenous, and all the rest, but on this forum those terms leave you wide open to scrutiny, criticism, racial slurs and those infamous, stupid, meaningless answers and insults.
Many Americans support illegal immigration and back their stand using the words, "Native Americans were here first, they had their land stolen from them", and so on. You all know this classic argument. Personally it insults me that they use the plight of my people to justify their reasoning in support of illegals. I would like to hear from my people, the red skinned Americans...do you support amnesty, illegal immigration...or not support? And I would like to know your reasons as well. I am a red skin by birth and an American by birth, I'm loyal to my country, my people and my fellow Americans. I am one of "We the People" regardless of history and do not support illegals or amnesty, never will.

This red skinned AMERICAN Does not support any form of Amnesty, because it is morally & legally wrong to reward criminal behavior. I do not support any form of "Comprehensive immigration reform" because the senate and congress want to make Amendments to the Constitution, for what reasons? America already has Immigration laws in place, enforcement of the standing laws should be a priority,NOT amending the Constitution. Amending current laws to enable better enforcement and streamline LEGAL immigration should be considered instead of a constitutional amendment, which is planned. I, like yourself will never support Illegal immigrants or any form of amnesty, nor will I recognize any laws which do just that very thing. If the Illegals can ignore laws, to their benefit, why shouldnt I do the same?

Mendi8a, Your ignorance is glaring, you need to go powder your racism little girl.

Amen! If we continue to allow illegal immigration into our country we soon will not have one. The illegals that are out there protesting every day are the beginings of a revolution that will destroy this country as we know it. I don't understand how countries like mexico can have such a strict policy on illegal immigration from there southern border but the encourage thier people to illegally cross the northern border and even go as far as to hand out instruction manuals on how to do it.

All human beings are equals and as equals we can connect stress. help in abolishing unlawful immigration as quickly as and for all!

I believe they refer to themselves as
"'Native American" those who were born here of immigrant ancestry are referred to as native American ('native' not Capitalized)

I have not experienced any Native American people using any 'race card'..as someone above stated. If someone asks a question relating to their people and their problems from the past that is only someone answering a question. From what I have seen, most Native Americans are against illegal immigration. I don't see Native Americans out bashing other Americans, protesting, acting 'uncivilized'. They seem to be more civilized than the majority of people from any race or ethnicity on this issue.
Just my own personal observations.

I'm 'ANTI-illegal immigration', against amnesty, for deportation, agree with punishing the hiring of illegals, agree with not giving illegal immigrants tax-paid, federally funded assistance, agree with not allowing anchor babies automatic citizenship and I agree with punishing of anyone who harbors or assists in the harboring of illegal immigrants.

Mendi--There are more Native Americans posting on the immigration category than you could ever imagine.

I do not support illegal immigration. I believe it's unfair for illegals from Mexico to be granted Amnesty when there are people in the Philippines, India, China, Europe, etc that wait for years to be able to come here and not get that kind of opportunity. I think that the US needs to really start being stricter around the borders and not have a soft heart for this kind of "crime". It's ignorant of our government, and shows how unimportant this issue is to them.

I have a question. Your ancestors were raped and their country robbed right? I don't see much difference between being a native American and Mexican. Borders are man made, there is no invisible line. We are one of the same you possibly from Cherookee and I from Aztec ancestors.

Unfortunately in History class they didn't teach us much about life in America before the Anglo's arrived. You could be my family and by the looks of it I am. I probably look more native American than you.

I was always asked if I was "Indian" (native American) and I would always respond "no I'm Mexican" but later I started thinking about it and thought why wouldn't I be considered native American. My ancestors were in the Americas before the Anglo's just like the native Americans. Isn't an Aztec a native to the Americas?

That's why all this immigration crap is retarded. What if they told you to get out. Leave your family and just go because you didn't have a peice of paper. Where would you go?

It is very sad to see that poor woman in that church, my mother said she's been here like 13 years, the woman doesn't look like she's much over 30. Imagine. Living here, raising your family here and all of a sudden, to take media away from our soldiers dying in Iraq, they come for you a hard working woman raising your kids.

Now not only are they doing the woman an injustice, what about her son. This is HIS country he was more than likely born here, right? The gray areas are everywhere.

I, like you, am in no danger of being deported, I was born in Chicago and my family thank goodness, also doesn't have these worries. My grandmother is Texan, thank goodness for that invisible line they moved, huh. Her blonde hair and blue eyes didn't hurt either.

But being U.S. born doesn't matter they see my skin and my dark brown hair and a deep hatred has been born, just because they wanted to take away press and debate from the war in which my cousins are fighting. Yes, when it comes to our army/navy they don't care what color skin the soldiers dying are. But I'm sure it doesn't stop them from yelling "speak English" to their parents.

From my perspective this whole thing is very sad. I can't stand the hatred. The racial slurs that have been directed at me and had to hear my family tell about. Believe me Mexicans were not having it easy before this and now just to see the "normal" population become so quickly moved to hatred, is sad.

Let me ask you this, if the woman in that church had a son/daughter fighting in Iraq, how would you feel about her then? What if her son had died for our country, then what would you want the gov. to do? And believe me it could happen. One of my cousins had a b/f that was not legal. His paperwork somehow was not completed and yet his brother and sister both had papers. They had been in the U.S. for many years. So many gray areas wish all U.S. citizens would realize this.

From what I see on surveys-The majority of Americans, no matter what race want no amnesty and the borders secure. And they are part of that majority.

The ones I know are totally against it. They think it should be done legally or not at all. They want a round up of all that are here illegally and immediate deportation.
