We just purchased the camera on Friday (it's Monday). I noticed a blue dot on the LCD screen. It is there whether in shooting mode or viewing mode. I do not think it affects the actual picture. But we only have 14 days to exchange it. Is it likely that more blue dots will appear? Should we exchange it now while we can? Thanks!

Your dealer, if he's local, may be kind enough to exchange it. However, it's entirely possible the next one will have one or more stuck/dead pixels. It has absolutely no effect on the photo.

If you check your user's manual, it says that this is not uncommon. The major manufacturers (Sony, Canon, etc.) generally will not replace a camera just for one or a few stuck pixels. It's going to be entirely the call of the dealer, and how much he wants to please you.

My $400+ Canon camera has a stuck red one, I barely even notice it.

The blue dot will likely stay for ever, it is unlikely that any more will appear (of any colour)

that is one of the manufacturing problems with lcd screens, they are graded for % of defects and you get what you pay for.

i would try exchanging it, but dont be surprised if you find out thats one of those "yeah it happens, this small print says you accept it" things

I have a cybershot and I do not have a blue dot. Take it back and exchange it.

It's a dead pixel. It won't affect what you shoot. I would trade it in only if it bothers you. They will only let you trade it in a certain amount of times because dead pixels are becoming so common in LCDs.

If there is "any" reason you don't like the camera, return it.
