And in other news, I am actually looking for high school english lesson plans. i am teaching it for the first time next week. If any teachers happen to see this question, could you please be kind enough to advise me of any lesson plans you have that might be helpful?

I am teaching 13-16 year olds, so there is quite an array of material that would be helpful.

There is a separate question that I just asked in the teaching area, or just put it here. Another really helpful thing would be advice on good websites that have such material...

In regards to the religious question, I think it was the snake, hands-down.
Also, if you have any

just a boy, you are probably a little boy, and with that attitude, you will become a small man too.

John B, I suggest you read again, I am not intending to teach religion at all, it is none of my business.

My goodness.

One of the important things that is taught in English is comprehension. I suggest you try to avoid seeing the world through such a negative "anti-religion" crusader mentality, because it is clearly clouding your judgement.

John, I have overstated myself there... maybe you are not an anti-religious crusader. I agree with what you said, its just that I can't understand how you came to that answer. From what you wrote, it looks like you are seeing the world through a strong lens, that is all.

No, I do not think that teh snake (Satan) was a mistake. Most likely, even if there had not been a snake, Adam and Eve would have eventually screwed things up.

The big problem is free will. We are given free will by God in order to chose right from wrong. Because of free will, we are able to disobey God and turn away from Him.

On the other hand, free will is the greatest gift that we have been given, because without free will, there cannot be love. Because we have free will, we are able to chose to be loving and kind and to have a greater understanding of who God is.

God did not make the mistake. We made the mistakes, but God has the fix.

First of all I can't believe you are teaching mythical stories to young students, I sure hope you are giving them the opportunity to question your material, 13 & 16 year olds will have many different belifes on this subject, In my view all you will do here in a class room envierment is cause division amongst your students, in my opinion it should be against the law for teachers to express their beliefs and or teach religion in schools. This is a subject that I have and will continue to lobby against for the wellfare of our students in schools.

God makes no mistakes. For if he made so much as even one, he wouldn't be perfect. It's sin, through the first man he ever created where all the mistakes have been passed down from.

Given by the devil, who chose to turn from God himself, being a former angel. God doesn't have a biggest mistake, because he doesn't have one single tiny one.

He never makes a mistake.
Every happening is predefined by His Law of Cause and Effect.
Being the ultimate abode of all the contradictions and similarities, he does every thing without doing any thing. That is every thing is bound to happen according to His Laws without Him to bother about what happens and how to make that happen.

God's biggest mistake [and I know He didn't make any mistakes] was giving man [humans] the ability to choose. Man was created in the image of God, but still has the ability to reject God.

Genesis is the first book of the Bible. It's rather thin. This tells us where God screwed up. The rest of the Bible (which is thick) is where he has been trying to straighten it out.

I assume you are speaking of the Christian God.

Ok, his biggest mistake was glorifying the male gender above that of the female--it creates an imbalance.
